There is no reason why a Melffy kids cartoon or a line of plushies couldn't exist. People go to college campuses with an Attack on Titan or a My Hero Academia backpack. Yu-Gi-Oh can be a lot more.

Sky Striker as the first anime seasons, probably an Albaz anime teaser to tie in with the new Albaz lore box set coming this year, have the Live Twins be mascot characters that present new archetypes or products, and you can have old archetypes that were shit but look really fucking cool or interesting from a lore aspect like Vendread. The fact we don't have more merch is FUCKING INSANE. You can have so much products that Konami hasn't been capitalised FOR DECADES! It's insane how long this company could survive without using the trove of money making potential there brand could make. The little sketches and random ideas they had and showed off for how they went about making Albaz card lore with tons of fucking backstory the TCG crowd don't get because its looked in Japan only! HOW HAVE THEY NEVER USED THIS FOR MASSIVE MERCHANDIING?! FUCKING HOW?! Pachinko. That's it. That's why Corona actually kicked them back into trying to make games and lean on the Yugioh IP.

The four original charmers also have scale models in production so it could be them as well if Konami actually does do any sort of anime with these monsters

I'll be honest the Sky Strikers animation looked pretty jank. If it does come out it might be 2025/2026. I'm hyped that we might get a show tho!

First one is probably not happening, with master duel making so much more money than any single player yugioh game could hope for, very little incentive to make a competing product to it when it will certainly make less money. The second one already exists, there is a sky strikers manga that does exacly that.

Around the mid 2000's Yu-Gi-Oh was relatively as popular as Pokemon and they did try to take risks in expanding the IP. Their PS2 games strayed away from the card game and you would find more Yu-Gi-Oh toy products in stores. I think they just hyper focused too much on the card game aspect which lead to the now beloved Edison format that garnered a loyal hardcore fanbase at the expense of not growing and appealing to the general audience similarly to Pokemon.

dungeon dice monsters, capsule monsters, that one fire emblem-ish yugioh game, the breakfast cereal, the old merch, ect. konami had some crazy stuff in their bag, all the way up to 5D's having a literal racing game. yugioh has insane potential for expansion. konami has started digging into that market with the new sky strikers manga, but there is a crazy amount of stuff they can do with many of their archetypes. the DT storylines, albaz storyline,Psyframe storyline (which iirc includes live twins, IP, S-force, TIme thief, and another few archetypes), batterymen hijinx, Plunder patrol, monarchs vs dragon rulers, spyral storyline, list goes on. konami has a straight up goldmine of storylines they can make shows, games, merch, and manga out of, and they are just... not.

That might be a bit hard...Kozmo has too many things related to Star Wars, and you know what that means when things related to the big mouse...🤦🏻‍♂️

Hell,Valyatz. Make that a new fucking game. They had Capsule and Dungeon Dice Monsters that they experimented with and they could legit do that if they first get a bunch of merch out for figures, plushies, anime, manga and the like and fucking go off! They had to go back to there game studios after Corona fucked up there pachinko plans and Yugioh is there highest earning IP. Legit I think they only even started considering even making new merch just because of Corona showing how there main ways to try and make money could be easily fucked up.

The point is it is insane that Konami as a company has sat on an actual infinite money making system like Yugioh card lore for so long when they make decks that reference or take inspiration from popular media or just seems like a fun concept for a deck and DON'T capitalize on the merchandise sales. Pokemon is a global phenomenon that is actually the biggest merchandise brand in existence. How Yugioh, with its more focused niched approach to monster and story designs isn't making comparative numbers to Pokemon makes one wonder how random RU-vid can make a well thought out explanation to why Konami seems to have no idea how to make money while also being called a greedy company.

...No it's because it has to be animated. Obviously they have to change designs a bit so the animators don't go insane animating detailed looks.

Simpler designs are easier to animate. The more detail a design has, the harder it is to animate. Therefore, a design that works well for a card won’t necessarily work well for animation.

@@GrapeCheckerBoard does this mean that konami is too stupid to get the animation right, but gallop has been able to do this since the 2000s?

@colltyp I don’t know what’s possible to animate, but there’s a difference between a monster floating in place/performing an attack and a monster who walks around, runs, gestures at something and otherwise moves like a real person doing the things real people do. Now I don’t know if Yugioh monsters specifically are too difficult to animate properly, but it is a concern when it comes to comic book characters, who were designed to look good in comics instead of animation.
