For my first Baldur's Gate 3-inspired song, I wanted to write from the POV of Tav; a kind of 'overture' for what, to me, were some of the main themes in the game - similar to what 'Fallen Leaves' was for Elden Ring. Some of the most inspiring themes in BG3 were bonding over shared trauma, friends helping eachother through difficult times and the sense of community that hardships can sometimes create. I realized early on in this project that an 'Ascension' style piece with small, quick verses about every character wasn't going to work for such a huge, deep cast and that multiple songs about my favorites would be a more effective approach. So there will be other songs coming too that focus more in depth on certain characters - starting with Karlach, whose song will be out soon :) P.s. Yes I saw the typo lol Enjoy! Gav
Adding such elements from your previous song is one of the details I have always loved about your music Gav! That and how you make each song sound like heaven❤
Honestly. That’s my favorite kind of music. Too gentle is too boring, and endlessly heavy metal gets tiresome. But cycling between them just makes for good ass music.
Baldur's Gate 2 was my introduction to Baldur's Gate and DnD as a whole. My dad passed it down to me. We were so excited for Baldur's Gate 3, but only one of us got to play it. My first character was a dwarf barbarian in honor of him. I'm so proud that people have loved this series as much as both of us have!
I'm just confused. How do you 'take pride' in something that other people feel that has nothing to do with you? Did you help make the game, because then you have some responsibility for how much people love it, but otherwise... I have to conclude that whatever you feel isn't 'pride.' Maybe you feel comradery or a relief that there are like-minded folks? I dunno, I don't live in your head; I just know that what you've described isn't pride.
"To quell the Urge beneath the skin, Or take the gifts and let it in..." FUCKING BRILLIANT LINES!!!!!!! Man, Im following your work in more, or less 10 years for now, and you NEVER dissapoint! This one, without a doubt is another masterpiece!
On my way to a congress rn, this will propably play for the next five hours I'll be trapped in this train. "I will share your pain, your laughter and your sorrow" immediately made me think of Shadowheart, Karlach and Astarion (in this order) and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the chorus just has this great feeling of togetherness and kindness. Immediately one of my new favourite songs by you, Gav!
Man, I've been listening long enough to watch your lyrical style shift away from being inextricable from the inspiration source material toward being more accessible to people unfamiliar with the source while still rewarding familiarity with clever references, like the Take It Back edit. And god DAMN! this is some of your most incredible work on that front, and an absolute banger musically, too!
The part that hits hardest about this song is that it doesn’t just apply to Tav or BG3 It applies to all the good TTRPG groups. I’ve had a couple groups I meshed well with. I think of some of the adventures I’ve shared with them and I…well, I get a little choked up
Same here, man. I keep getting flashes of some of the fondest adventures and moments i've had with my group, but instead of choked up.. i'm straight up bawling
Those adventures around a table with friends where you spend 4 Hours checking individual doors, and spending at least two of those hours trying to kick down a single door that we were all convinced was the entrance to some secret lair because the Barbarian and Rogue kept rolling low. Wouldn't trade those hours for anything. I'm still convinced the DM made that door the secret elevator to the Vampire's lab out of pity.
Tav is everyone's therapist and best friend (so long as you don't play him as an ass), so this is an utterly amazing theme for him. And the song is just great all around on a technical level too.
Me and my friends wrapped up a three year D&D the same day you released this track. A song about the shared emotions and unity that a party can share is just too perfect. Once again you've knocked it out of the park Gavin, well done!
I just want to say i'm glad that i found your music and YTchannel in 2013. Your songs kept me from falling into despair, sadness, agonizing since then. Especially when i learned English more well. And it happened to be such a positive tearfall experience to hear your voice after notification opened. I'll be waiting (patiently, yep) next marvelously-crafted songs from you. God bless you!
"So there will be other songs coming too" This is what i wanted to hear for sure! Your songs are always hits me right in my heart so i knew that this day will come. First of many gorgeous Baldurs' Gate III songs is right here! We wanted our real RPG, and now we got it. :D
Having spent the last decade of my life obsessed with tabletop rpg's, dnd in particular, this song doesn't just capture what makes Bg3 so great, but playing rpg's with your friends in general. Even for the ever brilliant Gav, this is a banger. 11/10
I've been following you since your "Commander Shepard" days, Gav, and I can say this is my favorite song. It is a great bit of positivity in a hard time in my life, so thank you, truely.
I know I'm typing this is 2024 but this has been one of the best songs I've heard for the past year and the fact that the lyrics work so well with pretty much epic tale of heroes just makes it that much better, defiantly adding this to my playlist 10/10
One thing I love about Miracle of Sound is that he captures the spirit of the games so well that even for games I haven’t played, I can listen to his music and get a sense of the journey. And sometimes it can really help me decide just how much I want to travel these roads myself!
Dear Gav I wanna say thank you for your music and words you share with us. It's give me strength to live my life every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤
One thing about the video that I love so much is recognizing your Tav from the screenshots you posted on twitter and getting glimpses to some choices you made (yay for loving Shadowheart
Thank you for this song, Gav. I'm having a really rough time and this song gives me somehow so much hope and sense of the future still existing and being worth it.
I have been utterly entranced by this game, and I cannot express how excited I was to see this come up in my recommended! Once again you've managed to capture the excitement of the game, Amazing work!
One of the things I really adore about Miracle of Sound's music is how universal these songs can apply to many other games or scenarios as well. This song can straight up be repackaged as a Final Fantasy 14 song and no one would bat an eye, and while I havn't played Baldur's Gate 3 (yet) I'm sure there's subtle references (I got the shadowheart one :P) specific to the game strewn about as well that people who have played can pick up on and if you don't pick up on them, then the song STILL works. Brilliant work!
Been a fan ever since Level 1 and I'm thrilled every time I see something new from you. Damn fine work here, can't wait to see you delve deeper into the characters.
I can't stop grinning at the magnificence of this. I heard it earlier on Spotify but love seeing the video. It's such an amazing, song as always, for the best game in probably forever. I've put in over like 250 hours and still not slowing down. I imagine this song will be the same for a while
So far, of all of the dozens of Baldur's Gate 3 songs that have been released since launch, THIS has to be my ABSOLUTE favorite. You captured the essence of the game perfectly, and the orchestration is wonderful as well. The editing of the gameplay footage is sublime! Now I'm going to have this tadpole tune in my head all day.....
My father used to play BG2 back when I was a kid- that's how I got into BG and DND. Seeing this here, after so many years.. I can't help hut tear up. The song is very emotional and epic.
Was listening to music while shopping today, and the thing I was looking for as a treat for myself surviving the chaos of the trip was out of stock. It nearly sent me into a depressive episode, but right as that started to hit, I hear "We will not fall to despair this darkest day". Your song single-handedly helped me stop a depressive episode before it even got started. That's the power of great music. So thank you so much!
i love how he makes characters in games look like him, it makes sense, but i like to imagine hes this multiversal traveler completing different epics, then making songs about them
all these people commenting that this is perfect for every D&D group / whatever mates you're missing the point; this is perfect for every loving friend group. Family does not start or end with blood.
Hot damn, Gav. This is fantastic. There are a few of your songs that really speak to me beyond simply being a lot of fun, and this has shot right to the top of that list. Fantastic work, man. Just, fantastic.
First off, I don't appreciate how much this song makes me want to play the game again. Secondly, I'll be listening to this for hours on loop. I don't know how, but you can just feel the emotion through the lyrics
I don't know if I commented on one of your songs so far, but you outdid yourself with this one. I did not know you could possibly improve upon those you already sang, but this is a masterpiece.
Es ist Ein Meisterwerk der Schöpfung eine Symphonie der Töne der Fantasie und Freude ein sooo geiler Song der kommt gleich in die Playlist :D Grossartige Arbeit GAV^^
Ahhhh finally! I had been wanting to listen to this ever since you uploaded it but I hadn't finished the game just yet. Omg it's perfect, the lyrics capture everything I felt on my own journey and that bridge is gorgeous! 🤎🎶
The "long" time waiting for this was worth it, it's another masterpiece, im LOVING this! THANKS! I've checked every day for this song, and after hearing this multiple times.... IT. WAS. WORTH IT. Wonderful work, well done!
Been listening to your songs for 11 years (first I heard was The New Black Gold) and after all this time you still have only made masterpieces, you are a gifted musician, never stop ♥
I can't thank you enough for this particular track, Gav 🙏 It was the only thing that kept me from falling down in times of a hardest struggle. Your art literally saved my soul 💫 THANKS A LOT! 💖 I wish you the best of luck on your artistic journey! ❤🔥💥
This. This is exactly what was going through my mind once I got my party well established. I love all of the companion characters and their stories and this song personifies that perfectly.
Always glad to hear more from you. This song moved me a bit because it reminds me of all the adventures my friends and I have gone on in DnD over the years. Sitting around the table, cracking jokes, fighting monsters, and occasionally giving each other a hug over the loss of a beloved character are some of the best memories I've made with a lot of good people, and this song just brings them all to the surface. Thanks, man.
This not only got me super psyched to play Baldur's Gate 3, but gave me a huge rush of nostalgia for my old D&D group. Life's taken us pretty far from each other in the years since, but we'll always have those memories of adventure.
Gavin over here knocking it out of the park yet again. I haven't played this game yet, but this song brings such a sense of adventure that I'll be humming it the whole time I play it.
I love that your music is always there to soothe the emotional hangover I have after playing through a game that hits on a deeper level. Thanks for that and I'm looking forward to more BG3-inspired songs!
Super happy I listened to my curiosity all those years ago. 2010 Me: "Gordon Freeman Saved My Life"? Wonder what that's about? I was super into Freeman's Mind and made one of the best music choices I've made in years. To think that you're still going strong is awesome. Your songs have inspired me to look into some of the best games I've played in years.
I should have known this was coming, but I’m glad I didn’t think of it earlier. This was a pleasant surprise. I love this game so much. I’ve experimented with a few different characters, choices, and buddy party combinations, so I’ve got over 60 hours and I’ve barely scratched Act 2. I’m halfway through Act 1 on my current playthrough.
Amazing work Gav, as always! It's really cool how you find inspiration in games, but honestly, your work adds to my enjoyment of those games. I've often gained a deeper appreciation for the game after your songs highlighted themes or emotional moments that I might have missed in playing though the game in the first place. Art raising art.
This song came out in a good time for me, yesterday my grandma passed away and I'm in somewhat of a dark place right now, though this song gives me strength and echoes my own playthrough but also the memories of my dear grandma. Thank you gav for being one of the most inspiring musician in the world
I usually never comment on anything but your channel has been my favorite music for 8 years now and as a 20yr old guy, that is an insanely long time and no matter my changes in music, your music always stayed with me. I love the song and as a creative myself, I respect you so much.
I'm always impressed how MoS always manages to put these songs and videos together to perfectly capture the emotion so well. Another banger, i love it.
Been Listening since Age of the dragon on the Escapist and amazed that you can still make more fantastic music after all that you have done. Looking Forward to Hopefully seeing you live next year
Just like any Baldur's Gate game the best part is companions. Larian actually outdid Bioware's Bladur's Gate 2, the first people who did in over 20 years. This time the people we got around aren't just distinct, they are also deep. None of them are completely good or bad. You actually learn how to play D&D on a more profound level by watching the characters in the game. Trully inspiring stuff.
I've already got this playing on repeat. This is incredible and really highlights my favorite aspect of the game: shared struggles creating deep connections.
Gavin's music hadn't been on my playlists for a couple of years, and then I saw a new release on RU-vid for a game that I really liked, and damn it, it's great!
I am so pumped to see that you've made a song for one of my favourite games. I remember initially finding your music while it was hosted on The Escapist and I've been a huge fan ever since.
