I assume rick took off the jacket after season 7 episode 1 because its what he wore during the death of glenn and abraham and it reminded him of that event

He hadn’t worn it since the battle ended, he didn’t wear it at all in season 9 when he was all peaceful and happy but I’m sure he still had it at his house, he seems to only ever wear it during murderous rampages 😂

In the comics it’s just his sheriff jacket with the patched ripped off, and he wears it for a long time.

The Murder jacket is an iconic piece that never goes out of style and is loved by thousands of Suzahdi customers.

Simple, same thing that happened to his grey shirt he killed Shane in. He simply stopped wearing it, he gave that grey shirt to Carl and he must’ve thrown that jacket away.

I think he put it in the closet in season 9 because he wanted a new beginning, a calmer more peaceful ending, but if he finds his way back to his family he’ll most definitely put it on

I've been trying to cosplay as him before and was trying to get the correct Jean type, to the shirts, and my favorite purchase being his boots. The only problem is my hair is not the same type as his and I can't grow a beard.

Of course that episode where Rick lied about giving his word, he was wearing that murder jacket. Man went ham on that whole scene too.

I heard that after that season 8 episode he went back to hilltop which was a scene you can watch & that was the last time he was wearing it, which was at hilltop so he left it there which means that when alpha/negan destroyed and burned down hilltop in season 10, Rick’s “murder jacket” was also destroyed.

I think it’ll be cool if when Rick gets out of the CRM we find out that michonne brought it with her and he just goes murder mode on the soldiers to break out

My buddy Justin bought 1 of the 3 murder jackets from the show and posted about it on YT. I just saw it in person and thought it looked awesome. A bit battered up but still cool.

I think the reason he stops wearing it is more a metaphorical reason and it funnily enough ties in with what people call it, The 'Murder' Jacket. Rick started wearing it season 4, after he had lost his home at the prison which he fought tirelessly to build. The governor shattered that for him, shattered the idea you can't be 'too far gone' and most importantly, hope. Rick was already a ticking time bomb after season 2, having to kill his friend and then spend 7 months scavenging. Even more so after Lori died due to the prisoners, but people like Hershel brought him back from the edge. With nothing to pull him back from the edge now, he became a savage, feral monster, not unlike the walkers. The claimers, Terminus and the Atlanta hospital only traumatized him further. He had become like Shane, if not worse and more dangerous. Even when they reached Alexandria, he was still thinking like a cornered animal and when he eventually took over as leader after Deanna's demise, he ran it pretty ruthlessly which did help in some aspects, like fending off the wolves and the walkers that had infested it but also brought ruin to it in other areas, like attacking the satellite array. If they hadn't done that, it was possible they could have worked something out with the saviors. The reason why he stops wearing it when season 7 comes around is simple, Negan emasculated Rick. He killed 2 more of his friends and seemed like a foe too tough even for him to handle and that his decisions got them killed, he was made weak, pushed back down and it took people like Gabriel and Michonne to pep him up after that. Even when he started fighting, he took more care for his friends, trying to be less ruthless and more 'smart' about things when fighting the saviors. He even offered to spare the lieutenants if they backed down, something S5 rick wouldn't have done. When Carl died though, he was nearly pushed back over the edge again, which is why he dawns the jacket when he heads to Dave's bar. In that part of the episode, he regressed back to that Feral moment, killing all he saw as a threat, despite their surrender. By season 9, he is not wearing it because he has reeled himself in, becoming wiser and rejecting that 'monster' side of himself. Sorry for the long posts, its just my thoughts on it.

I hope we see rick with it again in the ones who live

You should have said rick last was seen wearing his jacket in season 8 when fighting the saviors with Morgan. Ever since he got rescued by Jadis in season 9 well he obviously last left it put up somewhere in Alexandria
