I do kinda relate to Vaush tho on reading. I just can't read. It's like a disease. My brain has a very hard time staying focused on reading. I've always gotten very good grades, but when I was a kid book reports/reviews were the bane of my existence (I still scored well on them) and my German literature class in college was a struggle. As a kid I went through stints where I would read consistently, but eventually it fell off. I don't think I ever enjoyed reading, but I'd enjoy the story sometimes. It feels like trying to make myself eat when I'm full. I'm not proud of it and I still want to read at least 5 or 10 minutes a day, but it is what it is. So I get where he's coming from; from my perspective I think he's just trying to point out that reading doesn't make you inherently smarter and if someone struggles with reading saying "oh try reading x" doesn't really help. Also if your jaw hurts TMJ physically therapy exercises can really help with that! I used to get headaches almost every day before I saw a physical therapist.
I know this is not the main point of your comment, but how are you with audio books? I struggle with reading due to depression-related concentration issues (I assume) but I find it much easier to focus on audio books
The ability of a Fascist to do a 50 page dissertation about politics and society, while completely ignoring the obvious class hierarchy that exists in Capitalism, while avoiding to make any sort of explicit (or implicit) economic critique, to instead promote the vague notion that "we are a decaying Empire" (with no concrete material analysis to prove it), is quite staggering. Since this guy loves analogies so much, I'd say "this is like trying to do Mathematics without using numbers". This guy barely understand history, much less anything concerning sociology or economics. He's well versed in Spirit Science though - I'll give him that much.
"Honor", "duty", individual responsibility", "elevating your consciousness" - all abstract concepts that don't mean anything, that are open to interpretation and subjectivity. This is why many right-wingers are part of a moralistic crusade, who confuse "being part of a cult" with "doing politics", abandoning any sort of Materialist analysis along the way. Fascism gives a lot of meaning to these people; it gives them meaning and something to rally around. But they can't clearly define what bonds them together, or how they seek to change reality in a concrete, palpable manner. It's highly esoteric. Everything they say and do comes from a visceral level.
