My deadlift is under 400 lbs and I haven’t been using straps. I’m training to compete in a strongman event towards the end of this year or beginning of 2022(1st comp ever). Trying to improve my grip but should I start practicing my heavier lifts with straps or wait till I get a bit stronger? Thanks for the great videos Rob! We got our shirts a couple weeks ago and love them👍

Rob when you split jerk the log I notice you use those lifting shoes. Would split jerking with squat shoes be a good idea? The mobility in them seems limited

What are the controversial lifts with figure 8 straps that he’s mentioning? I tried to look it up online and couldn’t find anything.

You can hold the bar in your fingertips on deads

look up any of oleksi novikovs lifts from 2018 and 2019 hes the master of using figure 8s. not knocking the guy at all if its not against the rules its not cheating. but basically the bar hangs about an inch or 2 below where it would be if its in your hand fully
