I received my Momentum a couple of weeks ago too (Massive Magnum P.I fan here). I feel like shipping from the US/Canada to Australia is alot faster now compared to 6 Months ago. From a fellow ex-Brit, also living in Oz, enjoy your holiday up here in sunny Queensland mate :)
I'm wearing my Seaquartz 30 on it's tropic while watching this... I absloutely love it! It's a great watch, everything lines up, and my second hand hits every marker.
That Momentum Sea Quartz looks great - would be good to know how it compares to a Scurfa Diver One… and of course I love the Nomos, especially paired with that orange strap. Hard to beat orange dials and accents!
Wow. Weird collection and very quartz centric! But great intel on some new watches and I think they all work together for a trip. Last time I travelled I had at least eight watched stuffed in socks in the bottom of my overpacked suitcase. I think I need a compact watch roll! Great series. Merci!
Having rocked the Nomos Club Campus for more than a year... You have *got* to get the exhibition caseback. Very rarely do I need a exhibition caseback for a NH35 or ETA2824... but golly, that movement is a pleasure to view!
I’m currently travelling for a work thing this week, so had to pack a watch roll. My collection is exclusively Casio, and what I brought was a gold-trimmed Duro with an array of straps (included black which I modified into a quick-release, a black nato with a thin yellow strap, brown leather with minimal stitching, and a mid-tone grey Crown and Buckle chevron), plus an a171 since having a classic metal-bracelet digital as a change-up felt right. If I was changing time zones, I would have brought maybe an LF20 or a500, or something with more time zones, but it’s felt like a great pair so far. Really versatile set of watches, and covers a lot of bases. If only Casio made a Duro GMT.
Jody, thanks for the intro of the Momentum!!! I’m only a couple years older than you and I’m sure Magnum PI was a big hit in the UK as well as the US so you understand how cool this is for us 70’s/80’s kids. For the price they’re charging, I’m going to have to put this little piece of nostalgia on my wrist! Can’t pass it up. Thanks for the heads up.
I’m freezing down here in the Snowys and you’re off to Hamilton Island! Have a great trip. Nice selection. The Nomos is my pick of the bunch. I’d probably take a cheap G shock for the beach too.
Traveling across the world, im only bringing my G Shock Rangeman and the Signum Lume GMT with bracelet and straps for weddings I will attend. Keeping it very minimalistic this time, less things to worry about.
Loving the Tropic straps on those watches. I just put one on the SRPE55 you gave me in your giveaway and it is the perfect strap for it. Installed a DD saphire too. Heck of a watch. Thanks again! Enjoy your holiday.
Excellent video as always. I’m excited to see you have purchased the Momentum Sea Quartz! I’ll be anxious to see your full review on it. I saw it advertised back around the first of the year but I wasn’t able to purchase one at that time. I’m particularly interested in the quality of the lume and how long it lasts. Thanks so much in advance! 🥃
The Momentum looks rather like a Marathon to me. I can't say I like the Nomos, though, Orange dials aren't my thing and I hate California dials with a passion! :D
I have two watches from Momentum and I really like them a lot. I have a Momentum Steelix and I also have a Momentum Torpedo Professional. I like them a lot. They are built well and the lume is really good at least the ones I have have great lume. I got them from a local watch repair shop that also sells watches. They mostly sell Citizen's and some G Shocks. They also sell acouple other brands but they have a great collection of watches from Momentum. The ones I have are quartz but they do also have a few automatic ones. Well anyway sorry about the novel I just wrote about momentum watches I just don't see them that much on any watch reviews on RU-vid
Great selection. All really interesting, but the Nomos really made my eyes water. Someday I'll get an orange watch... Hope you and the fam have a great holiday!
Nomos are so nice, and still somewhat under the radar. I love that they are not afraid of bold colors. I have the Ahoi Neomatik in their "siren blue" which is such an eye-popping hue. Added the sport metal bracelet which is such a super comfortable choice. Nice roll as always Jody!
Ordered a Sea Quartz and got it a few weeks go. Yours seems to have faired better (probably hand picked). The second hand on mine doesn’t come close to hitting the indices and the 12 o’clock marker on the bezel doesn’t line up :( My Magnum watch dreams are dashed…
Same overall case design; these cases were originally made by swiss case maker MRP SA, and are sometimes a bit misleadingly referred to as Monnin cases. 😊 Heuer also used this design. It is quite an interesting story, I recommend that you look it up! 😊
WOW!! 3 QUARTZ AND... a Nomos club campus in orange Jodi you never cease to amaze me...great 4 watch roll your the man Jodi 👍 but I think you not taking a Hamilton khaki to Hamilton Island is a bit of a missed opportunity...lol God speed sir. 👍
have a great trip Jody. watch jomw jr doesnt get into the watch roll and drain the battery out the kosmonauta, or pull the crowns out the others. keep them screwed down and safe! i speak from experience sir.over and out
I am very excited to see your review of the Nomos. I've been considering this watch for some time. I'm just afraid it's a bit too dressy but it looks great on that strap
Nice choices 👍 I'm always a little surprised to see that many mechanical watches on RU-vid videos 🙂 This is nice to have in the collection but let be honest guys, it's not practical when you have many watches and you like to change it many times a week. At the beginning you say "it is a pleasure to set the time, the date, etc" but seriously, in the long run it becomes unpleasant to do it often. With many quartz watches in a collection, you can switch between them and appreciate that it is always running and keeping the time perfectly 😀 Personally, I ike having only very few mechanical watches in the collection for the those I wear rarely.
😂 I remember hiding under my bed covers switching that led red light watch on and off repeatedly and eventually I managed to get a calculator and then that suffered the same thing
Mmm - Nomos. The Campus is a looker [thumbs up for IV for IIII] but I have been imagining it's too small for me plus I always end up wandering up their range and price list... Sport[ nice] coloured date indicators around the dial edge [supreme] Pity or thankfully there's no dealer near me... although I already know its just a short coast to coast journey across the North of England
Very nice Jody. An interesting bunch of holiday watches! During my round the world backpacking trip I spent a little time on Hamilton Island! A beautiful place! Great to have no cars around. Now we're lucky enough to be able to take a boat trip to Prince Islands in the Marmara Sea with not a car in sight! Great to escape the madness of Istanbul! Love that Nomos!!
Jody, I am a big fan of the original Magnum Pi tv show. So I got two Momentum Sea quartz watches⌚️ one in stainless steel and the other in tropic strap. 👍🤜🤛
i can't believe i got a watch before you! lol. i got my sea quartz 30 this spring during the first production run! first watch i've ever had engraved! i have an eagle ray GMT also! great minds think alike! have a great trip jody! thanks!
