In this video I talk about the changes and different parts used during the life of the early Wheel Horse 3-piece transmission. These were used in 1958 and 1959 as transmission #5003, and in 1960 and 1961 as transmission #5010.

Very informative video as always. It's amazing they changed stuff all the time during production! That 401 in unrestored condition is a awesome factory piece!

Man, what great information. --very interesting and fine clear explanations. I enjoyed seeing your analysis, and how improvements were introduced. I wonder if any additional improvements were made to the gears in 62 or 63, etc... Seems like you are the man who would know!

You might have a model 551. In 1961 Wheel Horse introduced their new transmission with 2-piece cast iron case on models 551 and 701. The 2-piece cast iron transmissions used the cast iron hitch.

@@PackratsFabrications original motor is long gone but this also has a steering column aluminum gastank it is a 2 piece rear end and sterup footrest looks like a 753 but the beltgard got a c cutout in front near motor
