They don't rub in the fenders, I have photographed the tire sizes in the video. They have very good road behavior, both when cornering and when stopping. Over the bumps in the road, my Vespa GTS 300 now goes much more easily and stably. I recommend this mod!
Do you have to use only front wheels from MP3? Can you not use back wheel to make it wider? What size of tyres have you used? Did you have to adjust tacho or suspension due to bigger diameter? Thanks
The wheels were bought from SIP Scooter specifically for the Vespa GTS. I haven't bothered to rebuild anything from the Piaggio MP3. In the video you can see the exact dimensions of the tires. I haven't touched anything on suspension and speedometer. The difference is very small compared to the original wheel size. I measured the distance traveled before and after for the same road section.
Hello, really nice video. I'm loocking for upgradin my vespa with the 13" wheels but I have some doubts; does the drive experience change with the 140 tires for the front and rear? handling and agility are affected in the city traffic? I'm asking because most people use different tires for the fornt and rear usually 130 for the front and 140 for the rear Thank you
Hello, due to the increased diameter of the wheels, my Vespa GTS 300 feels slightly smoother when starting and picking up. I'm on a Polini 9-roll variator right now and it doesn't bother me, but it does feel a little slow. Going over bumps has improved though. Greetings!
Maksimalna brzina se neznatno povećava, ali ubrzanje opada. Razmisljam da stavim malo lakse remenice na varijator. Sa felgama od 13" moja Vesapa GTS 300 bolje se nosi sa krivinama i neravnim putevima.
Before changing the rims I did an experiment with another Vespa GTS 300 with 13" rims. Mine was 12". We reset the odometers. We traveled a distance of 4.5 km and the difference in mileage was 80m less for my friend's Vespa with 13" rims. If you are interested in the speed, I did not measure it by GPS. And by the way, I am not lying!!!
