I also rebelled against CarPro Perl for over a year but recently bought some and there's no comparison - CarPro Perl is the best I've ever used - period. It goes on really easy and is not shiny at all. I use it on tires and black plastic on my 911 and it works better than anything else I've tried.
Matt I'm finding it increasingly useful to re-watch these product reviews if only to pick up on the secondary points you make. In this instance it was the use of the Adams dispenser for the pearl bottle - great idea and I have them to hand to easy to implement. As to the primary point of the product review I still agree that it is an excellent product and gives a great finish. Regards, Kevin
Matt, first of all, these product videos are great! Please continue this series so we can get a better idea of what you'll be selling on your site. When exactly will the tire packages include that Adams tip for the Perl dressing bottle??? Any chance you'll add 2 of the tips to each box? Also, any chance you'll just be selling the Perl dressing alone??? I want to order the tire package, but will be holding off until the tip comes with the package. Keep up the great work!
The guy I think you're referring to in the beginning I think is Mike Philips, he is working with 3D products now in Stuart fl. Great guy, has his shop set up right.
As mentioned before, you should really check out AngelWax “Elixir”. I ordered their FastFoam to replace Adam’s in the cannon and they sent me a small sample of it, which you can also order. Immediately I liked it much better than the Adam’s tire shine I was using and even more than the VRT as it’s more liquid than a thick cream. Super easy to apply, gives tires a perfect satin look without anything greasy left on them. It never looks too shiny like some other products. It also beads up a ton of water. You owe it to yourself to try it, trust me.
I have to give Carpro a try, iv been now using Chemical Guys Natural Shine tire dressing which I really like.I Didnt give other big brands like carpro or adams a try since its hard to get up here in Canada.
I can attest that Perl works MUCH better than the Chemical Guys VRP. The VRP is gone and turns spotty the next day. Perl stays on and looks good for a long time.
It seems like I have tried every tire dressing known to man and the either sling or have durability issues. I have been using Gyeon Tire and it is by far the best tire dressing I have used and it seems to last for weeks not days. But I am always up for trying new products, that what makes the detailing world fun is trying different products. How do you like the Gyeon trim,I have been wanting to try it out.
Matt, love PERL. Never thought i would use anything else. But.... You need to try Poorboy’s Bold and Bright. Gives PERL a run for its money at half the price. One coat for satin. Another for a bit more shine...
Yes it's great value and works really well I have a litre bottle paid £21 off eBay recently their white diamond glaze & Black hole glaze products also work brilliantly and smell very nice 😎👍🇬🇧
You said you've used adams VRP, but have you used just their tire dressing? I have tried almost all the tire dressings and found the adams tire dressing (yellow stuff) is the best by a long shot. I might have to try this stuff but I am in love with adams stuff. It lasts forever and even through rain storms it doesn't wash off.
I know I'm coming into this a bit on the late side since this video's been out since 2017, but as a VRT guy I've been looking for something "better." It's not that VRT is a bad product at all because it's not - I'm just not convinced it's the best product for tires if that makes sense. Been thinking about either this or Ammo Mud...maybe this is the kick I need to actually get some and try it.
Purchase this product about 2 months ago but never try it in the tyres. After seeing this video I will with the positive comments. Just 1 question to all whom have try it, how long would it last?
Agree don't like chemical VRP, but can't go wrong with AMMO Mud or Pearl. I probably prefer AMMO Mud a little better overall as I like the finish a little better. Personal preference.
ive tried many tire dressings. i resisted pearl for a long time, wanted to stay with us 🇺🇸 companies i guess... but it is the best for tires ...there are other good ones out there just not as good as pearl
I apply it after every wash, so I maintain it well. It will only last a few weeks without maintenance. Hyper Dressing is a spray on and walk away. Perl needs to be applied.
I was excited to try this product. I am let down. It was extremely streaky on exterior plastic and trims. I have of course prep the surface with degreaser to remove the previous product used. I tried many different dilution: 1:5 (recommended), 1:3 and undiluted (streaks the least). On tires, it was blotchy and streaky as well, using it undiluted. Again, I prepped the surface with degreaser during the was process. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I don't use Perl on the trim. It doesn't last long enough. I prefer Gyeon Trim or Kamikaze ISM. For tire, you really have to spend time preparing them. Once they are prepped and maintained with Perl, you'll never have to do it again. I use either Stoner's Tarminator or Griot's Rubber prep after cleaning with Adam's Rubber Cleaner.
John Perez Get a tuff shine tire brush (short handle, stiff bristle) to aggitate the tire. I have been using super clean in the aerosol can and it is amazing to clean tires. It cleans them in one go around of scrubbing. If they’re really bad, two times does the trick. This will ensure the rubber is clean as can be. This will provide great results!
302QuestSwap Thanks, I do have two of those brushes. I rarely use it for my tires, because I don't low profile tires. I have a Honda Odyssey. It does not a good job on scrubbing the bottom part of the wheels. Thanks for the tip
John Perez if you have a large sidewall I’ve found that the Adam’s polishes tire brush is extremely effective. That’s my go to brush for tall tires. Happy detailing!
Been thinking of converting over to this is it plausible to use on a bunch of daily drivers or should I just use this on my high end clients?? I use vrp normally right now
Ronald Moll Hyper dressing works great on tires undiluted, to answer your question. I just prefer hyper dressing for engine bays and interior plastics (Diluted 3:1). I prefer VRT for tires to hyper dressing. I will give Carpro Perl a shot.
@@ObsessedGarage Thanks for the feedback Matt. I've found if you mix VRP 1:5 with water it's amazing for engine bays, similar to hyper dressing, spray and leave. I wonder if Perl could be used like this? Sounds like a challenge lol
