A lot of country fans think hes just making fun of country, that's what I thought in the beginning too. I personally hate country music so I appreciated that he was taking the piss out of it. BUT even though hes playing a character and being funny, he really is from Kentucky and he really does love and appreciate what he calls good country music. He gets the best musicians and producers money can buy and is trying really hard to make good country music that is also fun and funny. I might not love the genre but I think hes great and country fans should get behind him.
