Unless it's for a character reason it's weird that his Bumblebee design was changed. If the theory is true then that makes sense why the design was changed
I mean I'll just explain it due to the fact that Transformers have a habit of reformatting every couple of years Remember they are practically immortal you need some change
That’s one of the big reasons for the hate I think. Had they called him perceptor or another character without an established design then a good chunk of fans might like him more.
Megatron was able to get a redesign because that was just concept art that was leaked the film didn’t even a single frame of footage by the time Michael Bay’s laptop was hacked
Exactly! They're trying to fool us into believing they're sticking with this design when they actually kept his G1 head in secret until the climax / final battle.
I still don’t think it’s really that bad of a design but it’s not one I’d call a good wheeljack design. As for the theory I feel like if it was supposed to be a surprise one of the leaked toys would have a fixed head or some mask option.
@Joaks I didn't see the mask but he DOES have fins now, yes. Granted I don't know what the fins are supposed to do in a battle scenario, but it's nice that he has them

Imagine in the 3rd movie where Wheeljack moves back to the USA and scans a new vehicle where we finally get to see his Cartoon Accurate look but his mouth plate opens like Optimus Prime
Can people stop complaining about the design of wheeljack since I get wheeljack has stayed the same since g1 but isn't it time he got to look different take lock down for instance I didn't here any one complaining about his design compared to the revenge of the fallen toy
Cuz that was a live action redesign of his animated counterpart for a toy line that had no connection to the one we saw in Aoe, meanwhile we saw Wheeljack in Bumblebee and are just wondering why Optimus, Bee, and Arcee are still recognizable and Wheeljack looks nothing like his first appearance
@@KingSausage74 Different director. And after the Bumblebee movie, despite Bee being overrated, I thought it was a good post Bayverse* movie. So I'm positive it'll be good. Only gripe is Wheeljack.
It does kinda makes sense since we get to see optimus prime without a mask and see what his face looks like. I am a huge fan of Wheeljack, and the 1st design (that looked like the nerd emoji) was really bad to me, so I'm glad they changed it a little bit, but I am still not satisfied. But my dad told me that they could change it from now to when it comes out, and they're still fixing the Wheeljack design.
Yup, or his glasses split into two to form the ears. Maybe. Not to mention his little antennae on the sides of his head are positioned diagonally outwards, kinda mimicking the shape of his glowing ears.
I really hope that you are right and it makes sense because some of the toys has a secret face under the wheeljack mask when you remove a screw from his head, I wonder if that is where they got it from
Well I guess they're all G1 design at cybertron but when came to earth, they have to change their design to fit parts of human vehicles so some of them became entirely something else. Even optimus prime changes his chest part compare to his design on cybertron. Which is a shame to have everything trying to be real while being a non-fiction because they look really beautiful back when they're at cybertron.
Nice theory! I hope that this theory is true too. But I guess that you guys forgot something. The Weeljack design from Bumblebee movie is his cybertronian form but after he got to earth, he changed his appearance also maybe he added some new things too, for example the glasses.
Who cares about how dirty his design looks, I love the ROTB Wheeljack design. Just shows you how even though Wheeljack is a pretty cool character, he always ends up being pretty goofy.
I think it's time for people to just accept it and move on, no they're not gonna delay the movie because you dont like the face of one of the characters. If it sucks it sucks but who knows, maybe like the video said, the g1 face plate was just a battle mask and rn we are just looking at wheeljack without said mask
If the transformers :rise of the beast movie is related to time travel and stratosphere will be in the movie My theory is stratosphere might be have a power that could time travel in the past and future thats why in one scene stratosphere is about to crash But didn't .....................its just my theory ok not a proven fact
Maybe during rise of the beasts Wheeljack will scan the Lancia Stratos Turbo 5 like Bee does at the start of the Bumblebee movie where he goes from the Jeep to the Beetle.
Eh the lips look kinda weird but outside of that it's not a bad design for the "mad scientist" actually kinda neat that he's supposed to look like a stereotypical nerd similar to bayverse wheeljack that looked like Einstein. Just feels like he's actively copying the appearance of people that are seen as intelligent but also mad in order to fit in just like how some characters (presumably) adapt their speech mannerisms to fit in or sound more approachable
It shouldn’t be a mask in the first place, that should just be his head. Another thing that they should have changed was his colour. Why did they make him this ugly brown colour. Also if it is a mask, then why isn’t it in any of the toys?
1:35 I think wheeljack was severely damage back in the Cybertron where they fought decepticon and remember in the opening scene of bumblebee movie where we can see wheeljack and arcee was talking and wheeljack said "there is too many of them" and there is a missile that are aheading towards them and I think that time wheeljack was been hit too and you can also see some autobots are been hit like brawn and the dark orange robot
yeah.. of course when you lay one image over another and adjust the size and angle it's gonna look like a near perfect fit, that means exactly BS. clicked on this to give your channel a chance... and let down, DRC clicked.
Wheel jack without the mask is nothing new, if he just had the Crest and/or ears, nobody would've minded. Heck, people would probably appreciate the glasses more.
My theory is that his glasses will split down the bridge and then go around the side of his head forming his forms where the lens will be the translucent glowing ears and this his face mask will slide over sort of battle mask
I hope they make Wheeljack a new character named "Pablo" after the reactions from the audience because of his design in Rise Of The Beasts. And in the next movie, we see that Wheeljack came to the world after Rise Of The Beasts. (Unfortunately, on Rotb, Mirage said "Wheeljack" when talking about him.)
Hey Edformers! I found 2 errors with Wheeljack in the new transformers rise of the beast scene, when Rhinox hit Wheeljack he flew to the right but when Prime came he was on the top left also when Wheeljack said “Aye yai yai” there was a small error where his mouth wasn’t moving.
