Located near Denver Place Elementary School in Wilmington. This siren replaced a Thunderbolt which was mounted on a pole behind the school sometime in the early 2000s. It was not loud at all, and I'd guess only one driver was working. I was standing less than 100 ft away and it was quiet enough that I did not need ear protection. After the test you can hear the downtown OA-4 doing its full hi-lo cycle; you might be able to hear it during airhorn as well.
This siren likely won't be fixed anytime soon, as Wilmington and the county do not actively maintain them on a regular basis. The one at Williams Park still had a busted rotator, and the Cuba Vortex currently has dead batteries and is inoperable.
Christian (4j25) and August (CVG1000T) were going meet up with me here, but they ran late and had to divert to a different Whelen in town. We met up after the test and then went to Dairy Queen to get ice cream and met some other people there as well.
Wilmington/Clinton County tests their sirens on the First Saturday of every month at noon, weather-permitting.
