If that's his family she was just honoring the legacy of a loved one. Bishop Daniels did a lot for the community and that does matter. As I observed his ministry, he seemed to give all the glory to God. So if someone else acknowledges his work, its just an outside reflection of honor.
I hope and pray that his sister carry that church on as pastor even if they have to leave Church of God in Christ Bishop GE Patterson left for a season sometimes you have to move away just to keep yourself together

His family certainly has his back! I remember the election and thinking that he was the man the church needed in that moment. He's spiritual, anointed, unapologetically Pentecostal, and has a strong business acumen. Holy Redeemer is more than just a church but it is a hub for the community. Rest well The People's Bishop!!

They would’ve been looking for a new leader considering we watching the funeral services. Seems the best candidate won. Daniels likely was spared a few yrs not taking on such responsibilities that may have saw his exit sooner than later.
Yes he was the people’s bishop in the Milwaukee area and even in the state of Wisconsin. I love the our church. However there a millions upon millions of people in this world who know nothing about us.

This section of the funeral seems very tacky. My goodness. COGIC folk need to focus on the tenants of the bible not on title and position. This is why the church is in disarray. This just sounds like a bunch of drama among church folks who are messy. Extremely mess those people selected who they wanted. They didn't want this man. Which the young lady obviously does not understand. Another thing it's highly unprofessional and classless to get up during a funeral and unload everything that you feel. Yes the people will be kind because you are grieving however. I am sure they didn't approve of this. This young lady needs a lesson in manners and proper etiquette. @nasss, as I understand it, and correct me if I am incorrect, but there is an election where the presiding bishop is chosen. So, the election chose Mr. Sheared, not God. I say that because according to the Bible,the one we all read, there is no such thing as religion, that is man made. Under each religion, someone decided how a church is to be ran, then, many people followed the religion of their choice, or, they grew up in. It’s all about having a true relationship with God. Every time man puts their hands on something, it gets corrupt or messy.

This was the local funeral. Bishop sheard came the next day for the national funeral. I feel like this was not done with any grace or class. Why say stuff that’s going to lead people to wondering. Who ever was voted in is the people’s bishop…..

COGIC has laws, by laws, and protocol for how things are to be handled. Many people felt Bishop Daniels was the one that should have won the election. Now Bishop Sheard didn't particularly care for Bishop Daniels. From the time of Bishop transitioning, it has been subliminal shading and slighting of Bishop Daniels. He indeed has been the people's Bishop. His passing was even covered by mainstream news outlet praising him for all his work. When. Bishop Sheard was pronounced the winner graciously Bishop Daniels spoke on how he was ready to get behind Sheard working together. I have paraphrased the above statement. That is a short version of why the family would not take anymore disrespect.
