Glad you are not fixing my truck. You are using the wrong style u-bolts, you are using rounded style, you need square style. The u-u-bolts you are using are meant to go around the round tube of a rear axle. Glad i do not own that truck.

You beat me to it I was going to say the same, i used to drive them in the 1960's. If they loaded them like that in the UK they'd get the book thrown at them. Another thing is they haven't worked out is why they won't climb hills when overloaded. Also that wind stopper on the front what's that all about it must increase the fuel consumption by seventy five percent.
