So this video was supposed to have a sponsored segment, but I bailed on it. I honestly thought the video was so much better without it. Now, it doesn’t help that this was my most expensive video ever-his enclosure alone was thousands of dollars. I would appreciate it if you could go ahead and like the video; it goes a long way for me. Thank you!
@@DrPlantsMotherInLaw Idk the situation but it seems unfortunate that you have an account in the name of their channel/hobby and then refer to their work/passion as crap.
@@toucanman9998 Idk about reptiles not bonding period though, iv seen videos of iguanas being very dog-like, coming when called, and like nuzzling faces etc. Not sure about chameleons though.
@@bringinthedope5929 yeah i didnt notice they said all reptiles lol, theres lots that will bond. honestly chameleons can bond but i dont think people put the effort in, i believe they are solitary in the wild tho
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV VIDEOS ON THE INTERNET!! thank you for taking care of Bernie, making him an outstanding terrarium, and finding him a mate. It was definitely worth it, he loves you 🥹🤍
Thank you❤! First of all… Bernie is amazing. But also… your channel is the first non-video game show that my kids have wanted to watch in what seems like forever!!!
And love only exists for me the only lovable being and I am the only wf / gf / bride / girl / maiden / chick etc and the only shining being aka The Queen / The Princess / The Lady / The Goddess / The Star etc, and my protectors are the only friends / bfs / lovers etc, and rèłationships are only meant for us pure beings (me & the pure protectors aka the alphas) who were blessed with a pure body that doesn’t gx one out and that has a good smèłł / no smèłłs aka an enjoyable presence, and were never meant for ppl, there must be a distance between áll ppl at all times and no śínńing!
Aww this made me a little emotional as you can tell that chameleon had a shit past but then began to trust you which melted my heart. He's a beautiful boy too. So many people buy pets like this because they are cool or in fashion without doing the proper research & asking themselves whether they are committed to caring for an animal for a long time. Glad that chameleon got rescued by you. Just stumbled on your channel today & nearly finished watching all of your videos. I know you don't post often (probably caring for all of those creatures takes a lot of your time) but I definitely had to subscribe.
The ending got my heart filled with joy 🙏💕 we all I feel take for granted how all animals feel and want to be cared for, both big, and in this case small too 🤟🦎much love and respect for you Dr. Plant, you’ve made an incredible and unbreakable bond with a beautiful species of the animal kingdom 🙌🙏 🤘⚡️🦖⚡️
I got goosebumps when Bernie went onto his keeper's hand for the first time!! We adopted a little Lhasa Apso who was a biter. Everyone said we should put him down, but we had patience like you had with Bernie, and now he's my little snuggle-muffin! It warms my heart to see human beings work out the issues without rehoming or killing the animal. Thank you for being such a wonderful pet-daddy! The world needs more people like you who care about the animal's needs!
@@dylan-hc7dh I don't know much about chameleons, but finding a way to feed Bernie without scaring him probably helped a LOT. Bernie likely knows his keeper is there, so it allowed him to share that time with him over a snack without fear of being touched. Every time Bernie's keeper feeds him without any bad experience, it gets a little closer to becoming a GOOD association of Keeper > Food > Full Belly! These all become "good things" by association to the animal. You eventually get to be placed on his list of "favorite things!!" Often times it's just giving the animal time to get used to our presence without interacting. This gives the animal time to study us without feeling confronted. Consistency and patience. Once he's eating happily, try your hand again. If not, go back to the feeding tray, no hurt feelings. Each time the animal feels confident, slowly introduce something new, like holding out your hand and letting the animal stare at it, sniff, give it time to appraise that hand, eventually his appraisal may yield trust! These tips work for people too. Minus the feeding tray perhaps, but overall time, patience, consistency are key to building familiarity.
My favorite animal by far. I sometimes wish I could have one but I realize all too well just how intensive the care for a chameleon is, and I just wouldn't have the time that they need and deserve. Thank you for giving Bernie a better home. Warms my heart.
Oh my Bernie is a very colourful character that's for sure! This is a much welcome distraction from the coronation of our new King. Bernie doesn't need a crown to be cool!
@@Hallands. no, but if you are out in public it is on all the television, big screens and radios. You have to stay in your house or go somewhere without people. It's annoying. But at least just one day. BTW I would rather have this lizard as king. At least it would be more interesting. 😂
5:05 "On day 21, the mold is now completely gone, just like my wife. The clean up crew had eaten all of it." Did he just confess to feeding his wife's corpse to isodopods and springtails?
Seeing an animal go from such a horrid living situation and hating human contact to being shown love and getting the care it deserves and seeing it flourish is so heartwarming. You did a good thing.
Beautiful animals, impressive builds, incredible cinematography, handsome man, great sense of humour-this channel is unbelievable! Keep up the great work, I wish you continued success! 😊👏🏼
This one hits home man… ive got a 6 month old chameleon called Abu. I rescued him from a Dude who had no clue about reptiles. The guy had put him into a terrarium with 2 other chameleon wtf… so when I got him he was underweight, was missing about 1/4th of his tail (you know how important the tail is for his balance) and Abu doesnt have a lot of muscle Control in his tail, so curling it up is hard and holding onto things with it is even harder for him to do. Due to his poor balance and strength Abu falls about 3 times a day. I made his terrarium completely fall proof but somehow he still managed to gain wounds and tissue trauma on the part of his tail that connects it to his back… ive been to special vetrinarians and have spent about 300€ on medicine and treatment so far but the tissue trauma keeps spreading and getting worse. So with tears in my eyes I called up a vetrinarian and made an appointment to put Abu to sleep on monday. Im a 1.95m dutch giant weiging about 130kg. But my 75grams, squigly eyed, rainbowcollored friend had me crying like i was a little boy again. The world is unfair for people, I know that much. But Imagine how unfair the world is for a animal/pet that gets treated wrong. My message to everyone Reading this: Please do research before buying a exotic pet. Please talk to owners before starting one. And please only buy healthy pets from a certified dealer. Only by doing these things can we minimize the amount hurt and suffering that some of these animals go trough. Rip my homie Abu Thnx for reading
I am crying for Abu and for you. Thank you for being kind, for rescuing Abu and providing him with care. Thank you for respecting the life of an animal that is a fraction of your size. The world is better with you in it. Sending hugs and love to you and your little rainbow friend. RIP Abu ♥️💜💙💚💛🧡
Great video! It's hard to find animal channels that aren't staged these days, but watching your videos makes it clear how much you care about these creatures! Keep up the good work!
@@zearbellmf he literally gave it such a nice enclosure he cant know everythhing lol it was probably his first time too, just be glad its out of that prison and living and eating now
Oh my goodness, Bernie is such a handsome fella. What is Becky thinking?! Seriously though, you have saved his life, these are some of my favourite creatures. Thank you for all that you do. Your videos are just brilliant. Much ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
This is honestly such a beautiful story. I might be a sap, but I genuinely love stories in which people are able and willing to help those in need--be they humans or animals--by not just providing some money, resources, or services but going so far as to personally assist in helping to save/improve the lives of them. Don't get me wrong: I know that we can't all do what you did, at least not 100% of the time, but it's a beautiful thing to see it happen, and I honestly believe you've done one of the kindest and most beautiful things for Bernie in taking him from wherever he originally was from and giving him a much better home and life. Hopefully, someday, you'll even be able to get him an actual mate as well! I don't know what Becky was thinking, but it's her loss that she chose to reject Bernie. I'm sure the two of you will find someone for him someday!
"When he’s green,he’s happy,when he’s blue,he’s excited,when he’s red,he’s mad,and when his colours go wild and rainbow,he’s photoshopped" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the ending tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OMG your video always getting better and better!! Tmi but i'm scared of animals before, but your videos change me 🥺 from watching your channel (yes, i binge watch everything) i'm so mesmerized by them now. I could feel your love for animals by seeing you treated them. i think that helps me the most--to realize, if treated well and loved, animals will understand us too. It inspire me to be kind to everything around me now and not let fear consumes me. Thank you so much!!! Keep healthy and have a nice day sir 💜 ((your humor is so top-notch too))
Brilliant as always 👌 i was really rooting for little man Bernie 🦎 ive said it before but its my favourite channel on RU-vid. Well done Dr Plants 🍀🌻🐍🐸🦎🦜🦂🕷️🐛🐝 👏👏👏
