It was Super Bowl Sunday night and the big game festivities had finished an hour or so earlier. A busy bar in Key West, Florida, Conch Town Liquor and Lounge, was serving the crowd of hangers-on and those who didn’t have to be somewhere early the next morning. A group of three young men get up from their drinks and head out the back door leading to the parking lot behind the bar. A middle-aged man, an owner of this strip mall, gets up and follows them. Minutes later, as things moved into the earliest hours of Monday, there were shouts from behind the building, a shot was fired, followed by two more in quick succession. One young man’s life would pour out into that parking lot and another man’s life would be forever changed.
