As a kid I wanted to be like this dude.

I remember hearing about this. It rocked the black community at the time. Nobody could've guessed that this would happen to him that didn't know him. I'm dating myself but I grew up with seeing this guy on tv, so this story just always lives with me. Rest easy Merlin.

There was a story similar to this around my way. A well known local basketball star named "K" and his boy hooked up with some chicks at a hotel. After hooking up, the guys refused to take them home and kicked them out of the hotel room to find thier way home. One of the girls lied and said they were S.A'd. The girls' brother and another guy later came to the hotel room with a shotgun and shot K in the neck close range. K ran after getting shot didn't get far and collapsed and died K's friend was able to escape. I was 17 at the time and K was 21. This tragedy taught me a valuable lesson. When it comes to lust and women, Just because you could doesn't always mean you should. It could cost you your life.

The girl that set him up made a TikTok. People recognized her and called her out but she was VERY unapologetic for what she did; just zero remorse.

This is sad. I use to see him at a local store often and when he would see me and my grandma he would always pay for my snacks and my grandma’s drink. Super nice dude R.I.P

Brandon was my boyfriend's cousin and that night when Merlin got killed my boyfriend would’ve been there but I asked him to stay with me that night. That bullet came through the back window. My dude would’ve been in the back seat. I feel I saved my boyfriend's life that night. Man RIP Merlin

(Not saying all women) but this too many incidents where women (of all color ) lie on innocent men for various of reasons that’s not talked about hardly enough and being swept underneath the rug.. which causes severe consequences of ruining a man’s career, relationships, and unfortunately for Merlin case it took his life..

I met the liar's mom during a random weed purchase in Anaheim, CA around 2009. She happened to be with the seller and couldn't stop talking about her daughter about to be released as we drank in the 7-11 parking lot. It was like a little fame thing to her.

I knew him. He grew up with my homegirl who had family in the heights. We were a little further down from where he lived but we would go uptown all the time to hang out. he was in love with my friend. but she said she wouldn’t date him because he was a player 🤣🤣🤣🤣 she also ended up passing years later after him. This case was so tragic. I hate how Monique only got 10 years, when she set up the murder in motion. Last time I heard of her, she has kids, is a grandma, and was on TikTok - still showing no remorse for what she did when people attacked her. Her account was deleted I think, but crazy how she gets to live her life when she’s the reason an innocent one was taken away. There’s no justice in that. RIP Merlin❤️
