When and How to Propagate Pilea Peperomioides - Chinese Money Plant 

Time to propagate my Pilea Peperomioides, or Chinese money plant, or Pancake plant. It's a beautiful plant with round leaves. Propagating it is very easy from shoots of a healthy plant.
Pilea grows very quickly in the summer and cutting shoots does not harm the plant. After transplanting a shoot, put it away from the sun for a few weeks and keep the soil moist. This will allow for the new roots to form. Then place it in a moderately sunny location (west/east window).
In the summer water the plant every 2-3 days, but in the autumn/winter reduce watering considerably. In the winter the soil needs to dry completely between each watering. Otherwise the plant will suffer.
