Kevin Levin's dad, Devin Levin (really), was a plumber from the planet Osmos 5, at least according to the false memory. It was Proctor Servantis and not Aggregor who implanted the memory. Also, this retcon was the worst thing about Omniverse.

They also they retconned Max’s memory of Kevin’s dad as a fake implanted memory as part of the Rooter’s conspiracy to get the Tennyson’s to embrace Kevin so he could ultimately destroy Ben.

The real crime here is making Kevin look like a caveman in changing the whole art style and the Canon for it because an Ultimate Alien Ben got the final Omnitrix and almost got the master code

I like how they mostly combined the original series and UAF designs for most of the characters. Not all of them land, but I think Omniverse's designs look good overall.

The Grape flavor smoothie was never the same Ben just could not recreate it. It broke him, not losing the original versions of his friends and family it was a frozen drink he took issue with.

Tbh I only like how he designs men. When it comes to designing women… they probably should have had someone else designing the women cause every one djw designed really detracts from the show. You can just tell they were designed by a man (in a r/menwritingwomen way, not in a statement on all male character designers way)

@@ggnkrsfkoqxbk5078 (no offense taken lol!) the most obvious thing that women pick up on that men don’t is the change from tights and pants to knee socks- Gwen has always worn outfits that she can kick someone in without risking any anime panty shots. Omniverse has like half its female characters wearing skirts with knee socks. Another design element is the way boobs are drawn- to get that shape in real life one must wear either no bra or a very unsupportive bra and it would HURT to run in! Gwen would be in a lot of pain in real life!! One could argue she is sometimes only planning to attend classes, not fight, but other women (Kai, Julie, rojo, ester, etc.) are given the same design. Gwen’s design looking so painful kinda makes me sad lol, a lot of women have said that they find the way djw designs women’s outfits unfashionable, which is always a matter of taste, but the fact that they put Gwen in an unfashionable downgrade that isn’t even comfortable made a lot of viewers unhappy. (Btw thanks for being curious!!)

Interesting theory but the show crew have denied it, saying that the only charges are the ones we saw in the episode itself, Mr Smoothie and Ben’s new hoodie. Which leads to my theory is that Alien X could made a perfect recreation but Bellicus changed the smoothies just to mess with Ben.

@@Andrew-Bastin pretty sure in that court case episode later that they implied that the alien x dudes were the ones that kept making it so the shows changed artstyle in a weird meta way.

@@PrutteHans that was more of a joke than anything, the fans took it more seriously than the writers ever intended. Omniverse has a few meta jokes that shouldn’t be taken as canon, like the time Ben’s cousin Clyde interrupted the opening theme song.

@@jvbon646 it was clearly just a joke and it was never confirmed it the episode to be true, also if it was meant to be taken seriously how come no other characters in the entirety of the franchise has ever acknowledged the art-style changes. This is simply the case of a bunch of fan taking a meta-joke way too seriously.

I recall initially disliking it because I thought they were trying to replace the original, but I came to like it eventually because it's a surprisingly entertaining despite what my friends has said about it. By it's own it's actually a damn good show, people are just too attached to the OG which led them to judge the show too harshly.

I think the most off putting part (and confusing) is that despite Ben being older than before, he looks YOUNGER. He's drawn shorter, cuter, less adult despite Gwen and Kevin going off to college at this point. Ben should look like he's entering adulthood now, since at the end of Ultimate Alien he's 16. To me this was off putting, especially if you're aging with the show. You're growing up while Ben isn't. Now as I'm older, taking it more as its own thing, I like the style, but this is just the danger of switching up your aesthetic this drastically. There's another show that did do this, American Dragon, but it feels like a progression of the character, Jake looks a little older with the new art style.

@@ragnarockerbunny well, to be fair 16 isn't exactly grown up at all. And Gwen went to college early. You don't just go to college at the age of 16. Tho other teenagers might look older than others, I looked pretty much like Ben in Omniverse when I was 16. Heck, I still kinda do. I guess the green eyes and messy hair helped :))

The only thing I had issue with is the Annihilarrgh episode. With the treat of the entire universe being destroyed it was full of jokes and running gags and Ben acts way to casual at the end then when alien X recreates the universe and the real versions of Ben friends and family are died. He’s only upset about the grape flavor being different.

Like, in Omniverse he's not just a superhero, he's basically a celebrity. The "hero of heroes", and he's saved the universe multiple times, all before he's even turned 18. It's understandable he'd develop the flaws we see in the show. He can be impatient, cocky, dismissive and lazy, but he's a teenager

The Animated rendition of Megatron and Starscream are top notch stuff. Great show as well.

Pretty sure Wyatt only designed a handful of original characters Teen Titans. He also said he only worked on the first season of Scooby Doo MI when I asked him about the second season on Formspring when it was still a thing, before the 2013 rebranding.

I loved the Animated style from the start, such unique and fun takes on the characters. He was so passionate about the universe too, he was drawing new designs up until he passed away.

I also really like omniverse. It was just allot of fun and I liked the art. Also had Spoiler Multiverse ben

I feel like people would be way more willing to enjoy it for what it is if DJW wasn't so vocal and actively antagonistic to people who liked AF.

I wouldn't have a problem with the show if it wasn't for the inconsistency and his personality I still like all of them the original timeline but I can't get over the fact that sometimes he will be you know a person and then sometimes he's just a plot device that just so happens to have a voice

It doesn't erase Agreggor from existance tho. They acknowledge the past and what it was believed about the species, and changes it, instead of just changing it with no explanation. As for Osmos V, the planet. Why do people care? It's a planet we never see and know only one thing about. Might as well not be real, lmao.

Then why does Aggregor attempt to chart a course there?, where his original device to absorb the Andromeda 5 is?, what he did on earth was a makeshift replacement due to being stuck on the planet. So Osmosians are a rare human mutation, not a species. Then again, how does Qwarrel know what an Osmosian is?, how their powers work. How does Aggregor give us insight into Osmosian culture and what the specieis is like? If Osmosians are humans, why is aggregor in space and not from earth? The OV crew attempted to make it more like the OS, but the Original Series didn't even have Kevin as a human mutant!, Anytime he was reffered to as a mutant it meant the mutated Amalgamation form. People behind the OS crew have even said there wasn't any specific origin or plan for where Kevins powers came from. How come Azmuth knows of Osmosians as an alien species, and Professor Paradox, how do 2 of the most intelligent beings we meet in the series not bring this up?. Just being a human removes alot of the worlds lore, makes things like Aggregors existence and that arc confusing, and the even worse retcon they also added of his Dad being a false memory for him and Max, even though that was a huge part of Max's acceptance of Kevin, and Kevin's want to be a plumber and a good guy, without those false memories of a Plumber father, would Kevin have even become a good guy in AF?, Would Labrid's sacrifice have meant as much to him?

I don't like the change to Kevin at least especially if at the start of the show they had to running ideas one of him being a mutant and it was never stated but then you had you know over 5 years plus of an established origin for him and where he comes from which is based off that second idea that was made around the same time as the first one but now you say hey you know what we should erase that and do something else

Well, first his Dad was a plumber... Then Omniverse retconned that to be a fake memory. I don't actually know if they ever confirmed who or what Kevin's birth father was. Aggregor after the Omniverse retcon was a lab experiment created by the Rooters to replicate Kevin's absorption powers. But after Ben took off the Omnitrix, the Rooters just tossed Aggregor out to who-knows-where. I think they planned to, but Aggregor's retcon is never explained in Omniverse itself. It's explained in supplementary material provided by the writers.

The haters can be blamed for that. Ironically, them not watching the show got the last 4 aliens to not get official designs because CN told the crew to stop adding aliens due to the lower ratings before they could finish the designs. And the same people… complain about those aliens not being present and saying Derrick J Wyatt hated them. Which is false. Are you telling me out of all the aliens we get in Omniverse, Jetray specifically was hated? Like damn, the fact that we get this amazing selection of aliens to begin with is great. But people will still complain about 1 alien missing.

Y'know there's also the "The Routers were planting fake memories on top of fake memories" route that genuinely fits the canon better. (Omniverse takes place before UAF).

@@SamirSiraj8542 Let's say for the sake of it that I might buy Alan's father thing (even tho that's still bare bones), we hear coordinates for Osmos V, and the "Fake memories" only applied to the Kevin's squad. I doubt Servantis got to Azmuth, Inspector 13, Aggregor and Kevin's mom, even Max, it just doesn't make sense for Osmosians to just not exist when there's so much proof to show that they do. Even Paradox I'm pretty sure refers to Kevin as an Osmosian, at some point, and there's no way he got fake memories. There are just too many holes in the explanation of fake memories to "not be a retcon"

Ikr Gwen has always been a prep. Preps and nerds are both smart but preps have social skills and nerds don’t. In classic, Gwen was a people pleaser and in uaf the team relied on her sweetness and charisma. I am beyond bitter that they just changed my girl like that.

Also, in terms of art I can design better designs for Gwen myself but I’m not super great at designing men so I don’t think I have the authority to talk about where his design went wrong. But mark my words, his design absolutely went wrong.

The sad part is they didn’t even have to change Kevin’s backstory to make the arc work. It probably works better if they don’t change it.

To be fair, if we're talking genetic compatibility, it makes sense for the alien love interests to prefer Ben as their own species. He's also in peak form when he transforms, so he's theoretically one of the most attractive members of the species he turns into. Kai only liked Ben in the original series for his Blitzwolfer/Benwolf form because she thought she could tame him. And even after that, I'm pretty sure she has Blitzwolfer as Ben's profile photo on her phone instead of Ben himself. Sure, part of it is probably just teasing/joking, but still. And I can only imagine what fanfic writers did given that impression of Kai and Bens' relationship... And no, I don't want to know.

I agree, in Omniverse the problematic Kai x Ben ship was horribly contrived (especially since the last time we saw her was in the OG series where Gwen told her off and defended Ben because Kai treated Ben like a dumb animal). If someone did that to me or any of my friends that would be giving me countless red flags as she doesn't like Ben, she likes Ben wolf. I really missed Ben x Julie because that relationship was the most natural (my favourite Ben 10 series was Alien Force s1 and 2, I would have loved more seasons that kept the tone of those 2 because I found it very compelling, more so than the many other storylines that came afterwards).

It's not a full ruin everything though as well it's not like Hairy Potter Author suddenly making everything gay xd

I know for Ben they wanted to have him come off as younger, hence why they didn't use his car after episode 1 of Omniverse. He got that tech-cycle thing later, but I guess that's more fantastical since it doesn't look much like a real-life motorcycle. Also, I know it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme, but I wish Ben was 17 in Omniverse. He's 15 in Alien Force, and 16 in Ultimate Alien, but he's still 16 in Ominverse. Sure, it doesn't really matter, but it implies that all of Ultimate Alien and Omniverse takes place in one year, which is just weird. They don't have a hard timeline of events of course (e.g., it doesn't cycle through seasons, holidays, or give definitive time gaps between each event), but it's always been a nitpick of mine.

Ben 10 is supposed to be about aliens tho? That's literally the identity of this franchise. I'd argue the reasons why people enjoy this show so much compared to other superhero related media is because of how much it delves into aliens as a concept.

Magic is not alien powers. From the very original Ben 10, they said that magic comes from mana. The only reason you think magic is just “alien powers” is because Gwen happens to have a grandma from a magical race made of mana, which is why she has such a high aptitude for manipulating mana. However, neither Charmcaster nor Hex nor even Bezel have been confirmed to be anything but fully human. They can manipulate mana just like Gwen does without having to come from an alien race. Gwen is just faster at picking up spells because she has a lot more mana due to being part Anodite. Again, magic isn’t an “alien thing”. It’s just manipulation of mana, which Anodites just so happen to have a higher affinity for since they are made of mana.

Also, since when has Charmcaster not been able to stand up to Ben’s powers? In Omniverse, she easily keeps Ben and Kevin out of the library and kicks their butts until Gwen and Ben manage to trick her into trapping herself in her bag. The only reason Ben and Kevin managed to break into the library was because Bezel, another magician, let them in using magic. And in Alien Force, there’s literally an entire episode in the future that states that Ben, Gwen, and Kevin were overrun by Charmcaster and Hex if the accident with the Omnitrix didn’t happen and mutate Kevin. Which means in Alien Force, Charmcaster’s spells can still overpower Ben’s aliens considering he got captured. Then there’s that other episode where Ben was struggling to kill the magical pumpkin creatures until Swampfire blossomed and grew stronger than before. Plus, there is actually a spell that could potentially cancel a Celestialsapien’s omnipotence because their powers do not work well against magic. It’s one of their only weaknesses. If that doesn’t show how magic can be super OP and overpower alien abilities, idk what will.

But they were seen again in Omniverse tho. I mean that's what this show does. Give us all the aliens and use em.
