Humbolt Squid get to be over 75 lbs. A few years back they showed up in numbers off Southern Vancouver Island(Canada), guys were catching them on their salmon gear. Pretty weird.
what test of line would you suggest for squid? also how are you setting your drag? moving over from canada and don't know much about catching squid. great videos and keep them coming!

Couple questions for anyone to answer as well as the owner of this channel, what's the location you are fishing at? (general location) What is the season?, looks like a good summer or late spring. Are you using any chum to bring them out or are you just dropping the lure? I want to try catching squid at some point but I honestly have no clue to go on about it, i've looked stuff up and they come to the same thing in the end but. I dont know I just want a 3rd or 4th opinion on it.
i drift for them at sydney and found a spot thats full of squid so i happy to keep like that but back to the question i use a penn clash with 30lb braid and gomoku rod that use a threeway swivel and have 20lb vanish trace for the jog and sinker is this a ok rig it works but i do get snaged still should i make the sinker trace longer
Please tell me you don't run that boat with the motor cover on? It's already a Suzuki motor there is no reason to shorten it's life any further than what it is.
If you're going to catch that many squid, at least go away from the seals before you release them, shit. There's no point to feeding the damn seals more, just eat the damn things.
