This épisode is not just about Elizabeth and Toms past but Nathan's inner emotional past from his heartbreaking childhood with his father ( go back to seasons 7 ) Nathan has had a great deal of mental and emotional trauma starting in childhood to the physical dangers of being a mounty and being rejected by Elizabeth and Faith as well as May Sue. Jack also returned from the Northan Territories with mental and emotional trauma Elizabeth really never worked through the pain and trauma of losing Jack and may not chose a mounty again its a lot to take on. The reason i love Nathan is his on going willingness to face is trauma and fears and work through his pain but the show must honor Nathan with a loving wife and partner who will love and support him its long overdue. All three characters are connected to Jack who died with untreated trauma from both the landslide and his battles in the Northern Territories. And Tom lost his brother his rock his guide and his father at a young age. Here they all are at a crossroads in Hope Valley.
I hope this episode brings Nathan and Elizabeth even closer. Wonderful season so far. Great storylines and writing. Hoping "the kiss" happens soon. Elizabeth and Nathan are a fantastic couple. Looking forward to watching this episode.
When you finally see Nathan and Elizabeth kiss you will remember the great kisses that Lucas gave Elizabeth in the last season. You will be underwhelmed. I will be sad.
