Between 1969 and 1974, Chicago soul ruled the airwaves for R&B hits. The new sound was its own-- independent of Memphis, Philadelphia or Detroit. The Chi-Lites were the premier vocal group. their sound was silky and sexy. Among their hits were "Have You Seen Her?" and "Oh, Girl." Speaking with Live from the Heartland are songwriter-singer Marshall Thompson and promoter Gus Redmond.
