This is the probably one of the best channel in this niche. Great voice & new interesting topics. Some other channels can get repetitive with same stories and some with clearly fake ones.

I worked at a cricket hatchery where they made us count the crickets to 500 and mark where it was, using that as a guide. It ALWAYS hit the same mark, as we did them by size. We got busy and the manager was away more often, so I skipped the counting and just used the mark. Saved hours every week and was able to do more. After they noticed things were working, my numbers were accurate and my work was great, I told them I didn't count anymore and why.

My mum had to be told by my school that I needed a coat for the winter, especially as she expected me to walk 5 km (about 3 miles) home at 9 years old in the dead of winter, in Sweden. She had to borrow money from my grandma because she'd spent all her money going out drinking and eating at fancy restaurants. My grandma ended up with custody until they tracked my dad down in the uk (he didn't even know I existed), and after a couple years, he got custody, and I moved to England. Money management should be taught in schools.

Had a friend when I was a freshman in high school she was bullied for being fat this was at the point in time when fen-phen was going around and was legal she decided to take it and obnoxious amounts of that to the point where and checking. She had a heart attack and died in front of all of us. So please watch your words they hurt and carry weight😢

So I kinda experienced a school scandal and it totally robbed my graduating class for a senior trip, events, and even our prom almost. To make a long story short, all of our parents, and some of us who had part time jobs at the time, paid our senior fees for our senior trip, prom, events, etc. only to then find out that apparently no money was submitted. Everyone was confused and no one knew why. Fast forward couple of years, turns out that one of the faculty staffs, who worked in the front office, was stealing money from the graduating classes who submitted it for 3 whole years. She was later arrested.

I had a math class once in college that let us have a full sheet of paper worth of whatever we wanted on it for the test. I used an index card with a single formula on there, it was an obscure one that I rarely used so didn't memorize. Everyone else brought pages of example problems. Knowing why is more important to me that example problems.

14:19 This is why one of my teachers is strongly against memorizing, because you’re not really learning. Each chapter we have to do a vocab from the textbook. There’s a few pages of definitions at the end of each chapter. We are required to restate/rephrase them. On the test, they’re phrased differently from the book. My school tends to take the approach of treating students like adults (high school). Most graduates go to college, so it seems to work.

I've got a good one for ya. I'm having a conversation with some folks about why so few Americans have passports and the conversation steered to compare the size of Europe and the mainland US. This guy tells everyone that Europe is crazy tiny and points out that it's only the size of about 3 - 4 US states. I argued that Europe is much larger, and compare the sizes of Michigan and Norway to back up. He argues that I'm wrong and I pull up the sizes of my 2 examples on Encyclopedia Britannica to prove my point. He says Encyclopedia Britannica is skewed because it originated in Europe. What's even weirder is most everyone was agreeing with him. One girl even backed him up with the argument that she knew he was right because her uncle was a geologist.

At my high school two under age students had sex in the bathroom, and a student recorded it and started distributing it throughout the school. luckily I was not in the circles that were distributing it, but we got a lecture from our english teacher about how it was illegal, and how the person who recorded it could be facing multiple misdemeanors which translate into a felony. completely scared the crap out of everyone in the class, and even though I had nothing to do with it, I still had a dread throughout my body. It fricked up a lot of peoples lives, and it still kind of looms over the school. This was about a year ago.

Omg I have a story but it the opposite. (I don't have reddit so I'm hoping here is good) Before Christmas break like 3 weeks before I went to school super high on Mar!ju@n@ (like two or three blunts) and my friend asked if I was sick and I said. "No I'm high" Him: " yo can you get me some Mar!ju@n@" Me: "only if you give me $10" The next day( at school) I sold him the we@d and didn't think about the fact that schools have security cameras. So my friend was in a mask and had his hood up(smart) and I like the dumb butt I am was in a very specific hoodie that people know me for. I got pulled into the principles office and got suspended for two weeks (my mom is a Karen and Complained about it till it went from expulsion to suspension). My friends realized how dumb I am and stopped talking to my. I made more friends and now their like my second family. (I'm dumb what happened was dumb and I quit getting high before school)

re: hazing story. I don't want to downplay anything that happened, but when I hear the phrases junior girls, football team, and hazing, there are worse things that could have happened than this.

I usually tend to correct people, because English is my second language, and while I'm pretty good at it and can understand most things from context, some people might not be as familiar with the language, or sometimes i might just be curious, for there's a phrase i myself don't understand and I'd like to have a clarification. Not to defend grammer policing individuals but it is extremely frustrating when people are so apathetic and lazy they can't be bothered to abide by accepted conduct for communicating with other people. It's a sign that reveals a lot of personality traits to avoid like self-centered, disrespectful, lazy, uncooperative, and a strong possibility of low intelligence. It doesn't require a smart person to be able to write down the same words that you normally speak in the correct order and spelling so not doing so means probably lazy or stupid which makes that post meaningless and a waste of time because the poster must not know crap. That's what grammer police are really thinking.
