If you followed it properly, Costa was the reason Costa left. It was himself. He wanted to leave even before Conte came in. He asked for a transfer again in January. And finally Conte granted him in a bad fashion that infuriated Costa. Otherwise, it was always him wanting to. As a Chelsea fan, i love Costa, he is the best striker we had in the Abrahimovic era in terms of Character. But, in that debacle between him and Conte, too much people blame Conte without really knowing the story. So, on that row, it was completely Costa.

Not true he left because of language surrounding etc. He was targeted by media on daily basis. Conte was just his medium to go back.

And if you watched the matches in his last season, you can clearly see how not being allowed to leave in the January window affected Costa in his performance. Not saying Conte is a saint or Costa is the devil. Infact, i love Costa. His passion for the game. And he was funny on and off the field. But in this feud, yes, maybe Conte could have handled it a lot better than how he did. But again, Costa was asking for it. And indeed he got it, just not the way he expected and he got dramatic about it.
