Tony, you had a Rod Buster moment! The runt was humping that big assed reel, got hot and took a swim. Good hustle getting the runt back onboard and in running order without fouling the props. That sure did look like a nice ocean to be out playing on. Did you ever try Fishgum for bottom fish?
What a trooper!🤯 A lot of people would just accepted the loss. I had a friend drop a expensive jigging rod off the side of his boat in about 80 feet of water. There was no line to grab, it was just gone. Another time I had a friend who rod pulled into the water off a pier by a small shark. He just grabbed another rod he wasn't using and snagged the line, bringing the rod and the shark up. You just never know what can happen fishing.
@fishgum what reel did you have on that Runt there? And I just wanna let you know that I love the Runt Rod, I have the seafoam green and pink version and have caught Cichlids, Bluegill, Warmouth, LMB, Peacocks, Lesser Amberjacks, Yellowtail Snapper, and more! Rock it with a Daiwa Fuego 2500d-xh with 250yds of 10lb braid. Haven’t thought to use one of my bigger reels on it but have a few Daiwa BGs in 3K/4K that I may experiment using it with! Cheers
Dude. I'm a 74 yo bass guitar player. Ha ha! Also a native Floridian life long diver and fisherman. Here's the catch. The bass guitar background freaking nailed me first. Then the whole Fishgum thing sucked me in deeper. BRO, I have watched your evolution from the beginning. BUT, the awesome soft background "humming Bass guitar" literally blew my mind! Please, never underestimate the "draw" of the background "soft" entice! Think deeper about this. It's the soft background "scents" of your Fishgum concoction that draws the fish in.... just like the soft humming background Bass guitar drew me in. Mastery of marketing is what you achieved with that subtle background humming Bass guitar. Connect if you wish. I might have further insights from a successful career I began at Sea World, that ran from 1972 thru 1988 at Sea World of Florida. Open to a dialog out of this venue.
