I'd love to hear your thoughts about food companies incorporating terms like "Reduced-Guilt", "Sinless", etc into their products. I think those terms are actually more harmful than 'diet' and 'low-carb' because 'guilt' and 'sin' carry with them a very overt negativity and directly imply that eating anything but that version is worthy of 'guilt', or is a 'sin'.

I have definitely found this to be true. You eventually get to a point where you just don’t want to eat the world. I find that my potions naturally just decreased especially at dinner. Usually though I still want a bigger breakfast. There are times when I get hungrier but it’s not everyday. I pretty sure that’s what’s suppose to happen to us human.

I'm in the middle of the worst relapse I've had in years right now and watching your videos is offering a glimpse of hope to me. Thank you for all of your hard work. Because of you I am considering going back to treatment and giving recovery one more chance.

I have just started my recovery after a terrible relapse and im starting to see signs of more and more hunger and its scaring the crap out of me but, watching this is helping a bit to relize that my body needs more and it wont last forever. Thank you for this encoragement im gonna need it i know i have a long scary road a head of me.

It's so funny - every time I read the title question of your video, I already can suggest what your answer will be after diving in and reading through your great book! ♥ But it's like I need to hear it from your moth. Like I need the "backup", that's the right thing to do (no matter what part of recovery you're talking 'bout). I often feel guilty to spend this much money on food at the moment, eating whole packages and jars of anything. But - food is our medicine. And instead of going to the chemist's, we do buy our medicine in the grocery store. It feels good to listen to you Tabitha. It's so reassuring. ♥ P.S.: Dave would freak out, if anyone would dare to invent snack size portions of his cat food. Portion sizes written on packages and snack size portions ... for liliputians from Gulliver's Travels ô_Ô

please please make a video about when do I know when can I start exercising (lower level movement included). I have been trying consciously not to get myself involved in activities which are physically demanding. But doing that can make me a lot of opportunities to socialise or just enjoy life - say, I would not let myself go to the water park with my kid, or even go to play football with my kid (not a proper exercise actually). Or, I don't go window shopping with my friends anymore (with was one of my favourite pastimes.)

ive been in recovery or 5 months and in full recovery or 1 and a hal months and i am not as hungey as i was and i try to force myself to eat moren but im just not mentally or phsically hungry so i dont eat as much

Can you eat too much food in recovery? I've stopped exercising and only take some slow walks (genually love walking + don't have much else to do). I'm on my third week of the reduced exercise and on my fourth week of eating whatever and however much I want. I can eat all day and still feel hungry. I'm a bit worried tho. 5 years ago I weighed 100kg and 6 months qgo I weighed 48kg. I'm a 163cm tall girl btw. So basicly I'm worried that I will become fat or obece again. I feel that my conserns are relevant since I have a history of being overweight.

I have the same concern😥 I just startet my recovery a couple of days ago but the worry is driving me crazy. Did you get an answer somewhere?

@@nataschalaumen no I didn't. I gained 30kg and was still hungry all the time. I hated how I looked and decided to try and eat less and exercise again. I have lost 10kg but have a major problem with binge eating. So I have contacted the eating disorder clinic. I honestly don't know how to solve my situation. But my only advice is to try and get help. I at least could not fix my problems on my own.

Do you have any videos on recovering when you're "overweight" or "obese" and can't get care? I live in the UK and can't get treatment until I'm significantly underweight

Actually, I know my question is ridiculous, but as almost always, the comments here are only from female sufferers. Therefore I ask my question now anyway: Does this also apply to male sufferers? Should I also eat this much? I am now already at about 2800- 3000 kcal per day. Do I really need that much? Will my body also report at some point and will I then automatically no longer eat such huge portions as I do now? I would really appreciate your answer.

3000 should be the bare minimum, especially for a male recovering! I’m a 5’4” girl and going through extreme hunger right now and I’ve been eating 5-7k calories per day for over 2 months 🤯

All due respect Adam, but plain M&Ms are the way to go. But ha -- isn't it nice to quibble about M&M varieties with no fear or guilt associated? I'm glad you like Peanut M&Ms; I love the plain ones. And I bet you and I both would really dig some Cadbury!

Halo! Im recovering seven months, two in the hospital, then quasy recovery and finally 2 and half month all in, i went from 37 kg to 64, im 164 cm long. My highest weight pre Anna was 54 in the evening. I just started exercise and eat healthy i want on 45kg , then i find i can eat sweets it its fit in my calories, i started eating a lot of proteín, vegetable, low fat youghurts, sometimes some carbs. And i want to go on 42 to can dont worry about eating and let myself to go to 45. But i didnt. Becase i started to worry About gaining weight. So i tried to maintane, but i underestimate my expendure and i slowly losted more weight. I didnt know About it, becasu i stopped weight myself, becase i dont like it. (it=ED, About ed i thought its just mess in my head after diet.) i was obesed About healthy foods, calories, how to gain muscles and so. But i had bad feeling not just when i ate more i rhought i shut but too when less, besause i knew that i am underweight. But for some reason i wanted just gain muscles, becase i worried abot fat. I tried recovered on my own by allowing myself to eat something unhealthy without exercise (i was ok for mé to eat sometimes unhealthy and exercise in my ed) and i just binged. I didnt know abot extreme hunger, so i felt horrible. Day after i eat just proteín and vegetable and working out to,, balance,,..... But now after recovery I still can eating a 5000kcal (or something about) a day. Becasu i tried to surround myself by sweets and Chips and so (i eat them all 😂 and i dont feel bad About it i think). I feel a lot of better, i get my perod before 2 weeks and i dont need to exercise to feel good, i feel good in my body but i am little bit fat. And i am just still worry about to gain even more. Dont get me wrong i rewaired my brain but i now feel (what it in my opinion) normal feeling abot worrying abot at least my gaing 2 kilos a week. And my mind is more energides but my body is tired and want still just sleep, my legs pains (muscles pains) for no reasons. I wanna ask if it is ok to stop surround myself with so chocolates and Chips and eating healthy meals with some sweets and not exercise? I dont wanna to ruin my recovery but i wanna to feel heathly. And another quesrion how can i work on body image, becasu in clothes i feel little bit fat 😒❤️

if you eat slightly less than your TDEE, is it still restricting? i mean i go to the gym 3-4 times a week and on gym days my TDEE is like 2000 but on non gym days, it's like 1400 because i barely leave the house. should i have a set amount of calories for every day, no matter the exercise, or on gym days eat more? i'm borderline underweight, bmi 17.2, i used to be 15 but started binging and gained and now i can't stop binging. and i either eat like 1000-1200 or 3000-10000 (i purge too sometimes), there's no in between and i'm so tired of losing and gaining it all back. what is not restricting in your opinion?

@Lucinda J thanks so much for your reply. it wasn't harsh, but it was sad realizing the things you mentioned. i calculate my TDEE based on my apple watch, not online calculators, which measures heart rate so i think it's kinda accurate. my bmi gets between 17 and 17.7, that's why i said borderline. one day it can be 17 and the next 17.7 because of binging. i'd say i'm bulimic, not anorexic, because i hardly restrict anymore, i may do it for a day and the next i binge so bad. but it's sure that i have an ED because i don't know what eating normally means. i either restrict or binge. 5000+ cals isn't it binging? no normal person eats that much. and i don't think i want to recover, i just want to stop binging. i don't want to gain, i just want to stop obsessing that much. and i've been purging for 11 years, that's a really long time. i don't know what it's like living without an ED

@Lucinda J i'm not that slim, i was even bmi 28 at some point. and no you didn't offend me at all when you called me anorexic, i just said that i'm bulimic because i thought you hadn't understood that i mostly binge and purge. i agree that it's all the same disorder just different poles i'd say. and maybe you're right about the TDEE. of course the apple watch can't know my metabolism or how much my body burns so it may not be that accurate. i know that in order to stop binging i must gain weight and get fully recovered and that really sucks because i'm not ready to gain. losing weight and being skinny gives me purpose and i know it's wrong, but i feel more myself when i self harm. i used to cut myself and had to stop and that's when i developed my ED. i just have to find other ways of coping. thanks so much for taking the time to reply. :) you didn't offend me at all don't worry

I assume you have or had an eating disorder (I don't know), because you do seem really clueless. She's just eating normal. If she's hungry, she eats something, when she feels satisfied, she stops eating. It is easy and complicated for somebody with an ED at the same time. And right now, worrying about how ,,thin" somebody is, is a real no no. Your health is way more important. I hope you'll understand that and get better ❤️ (I didn't mean to offend or blame you or anything like that, I just wanted to tell you the truth, even if it's harsh. But I believe that you can do it!)

Question. For a person recovering from anorexia, would there ever be biological incentive to store more weight, above and beyond what is normal for their healthy body? Once the mind/body registers the “feast” mode and turns off the need to migrate (restrict) ... does the body want to “learn”, and increase protection for future fast states? In other words, will a person rehabilitate to their non-sick set point range, or will they be larger than before the anorexia started?

Hello Tabitah. I heard that you can never lower your set-point, but only raise it. Is that true??? I raised my set-point from 60kg to 80kg in the last 15 years of restricting and bingeing. I´m in recovery now since 8 weeks weighing 90kg. Does that mean when I start naturally losing weight because my metabolism will be fixed the lowest weight I will ever have naturally will be my 80kg set-point? I will always remain overweight??? I´m really scared, because I thought through recovery I could fix my metabolism and therefore lower my set-point again. Please help!!!

Well I choked on the old breakfast over the fin sized thing. It's always been a point of contention with me. Takes five to make it a bit fun. Those 'fun size' people are possible aliens who also enjoy buying toilet brushes and re-runs of 'Are You Being Served'. Anyway, you are fabulous, LOVE that you love horses as much as I do and the cats! Oh the cats! Keep on doing all these you sized things!

please please say a few words on when do you know you can exercise - lower level movement included. Im kinda aviod any amusment activity that might include a lot of movement. sometimes I feel sad about not be able to join physically demanding activities
