I can confirm that not everyone knows about the series. Never played it and only know the other 3 due to recognizing few of the songs. Wasn't into the show when I was younger due to anime not being shown over here at all (only really found out about it when I was almost 13).
There was new information that came out and you can choose 2 versions of controls standard or classic and if you choose classic you can do the wiggle beam struggles
I couldn't afford ps2 so I played this games in cybercafe and owner of cafe had to make rule about beam struggle because players liked doing them He told us all to do them slowly because we broke many controllers lol

I destroyed my share of controllers on those games on my way to becoming the best, literally! I eventually had to go on the hunt for the perfect controllers. I found them luckily, so I feel you on that.
they need to sell a separate controller (like player 3 for p1 and player 4 for p2) with only the analog sticks just for the clashes. at least you need to buy only those
