Nah the show actually had some amazing episodes. It had a noticeable decline in the last season, but it was a genuinely decent show (though are some bad episodes as well)
Who ever hates Turbo is wrong. This movie is the single greatest film ever created. It brings a tear to my eye every single time I see it. Thank you Dreamworks. Thank you Turbo.
@@DomicDrift handled, but I do not like Cars 3 as much as the first two. I’d rather have a story centered around Mater rather than one about a nerfed Lightning McQueen.
@@CreoTanshe was not joking…. Her entire personality is I’m so nice because I say the right things💀 she’s very holier than thou…. Like I’m sorry but I’m never saying Latin x💀💀
Honestly, I remember the Netflix series “Turbo Fast” more than the actual movie Fast. They had Kevin Conroy in one episode play a parody of Batman. So that’s at least one good thing.
It's easy to think of this like a speedster type superpower, like Flash and the speed force, but that's how they get you! No my friend, for you see, it is a Spiderman type power! This snail was basically bitten by a radioactive car and became Car-snail, a snail with all of the powers of a race car!
The most iconic thing about this movie is that the main character was played by Ryan Reynolds who also did Deadpool. And if I had a nickel for every time if Ben Schwartz voiced a character who’s blue and fast, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.
Fun fact! My grandpa used to work at an SFX studio and they got hired to mass produce those turbo statues used in that promotional turbo 500; they also were used as promo in movie theaters! We got to keep one of the prototypes so it was just an unpainted plastic shell but it was hollow inside and I used to climb into it and read. We had plans to use it as the shell of a go kart but it never came to fruition
if you think about it, there were at least 33 cars entered into that indy 500 (like there always is) and only 33 spots on the grid. Someone spent millions on a racecar and entry into the indy 500 and got bumped out of the field by a snail
Imagine u get a contract to manage a sail in the Indy 500. The amount of camera time an money that could be made it crazy. Why wouldn’t they put the sail in over the regular driver
I remember hearing it on Big Hero 6, when Hiro was cracking his fingers to try to write something on his journal and then opens it but he can't so he bangs his head on the table with all the broken paper in the trash and floor.
The meta reason for why Turbo is a snail is actually pretty simple Look up what a turbocharger in a car looks like, it looks like a snail shell Also the idea of a fast snail is oxymoronic
There was also a mobile game based on the movie called “Turbo Fast”, which was a pretty decent racing game. I don’t remember much from it, but it was graphically pretty good for an early 2010’s mobile game, and I remember it being pretty fun
That said mobile game was formerly called “Turbo Racing League”. But was renamed to promote the Tie-in Netflix Series “Turbo Fast” Oh and yes you can make a Turbo OC here and race with it. (The actual characters even the ones from turbo fast the show are locked behind microtransactions) I still have it on my iPad and i sometimes play it out of nostalgia Edit: it no longer works. R.I.P Turbo Fast 2013-2024
@@mlpdisneyloveri remember so much details of this game The Title screen has Dos Bros Tacos in the BG. Alongside what i think is a button that takes you to Netflix to watch turbo fast. There are 4 “Classes” that provide its own unique list of upgrades for your character. Speaking of upgrades, there are like… 12? For your Shell, your Exhaust, your Spoiler, and Even your Snail’s Body (im not kidding). Each. Which they provide nice stat names. If i recall correctly the Stat Thingies range from - Weak (In Maroon color) - Ok (in Orange Color) - Good (in Yellow) - Great (in Lime) - Amazing (in Green) All upgrades cost tomatoes which are the main currency in this game which you can collect via races. You can also customize your character in a dedicated tab which allows you to customize your shell color, highlight color, and the game claims that soon we’ll also be able to add accessories to your character, but that never happened. There are also more that improve your character’s stats such as Soeed, Acceleration, Handling, and more. Once you get to the Race Select Screen you’ll find a menu with 3 Post-it Notes showing you the type of race you’ll expect. From Single Race to Time Trials and The Gamemode where you keep your Fuel Tank as filled as possible. And even NPC Races too. You have to Win enough races to play whats essentially a Boss Race where you fight against a Tough NPC. Once you win you get a Shiny Digital Trophy and move onto the next class! Oh and did i forget there was a Quick Race button too? Heres some features from Actual Gameplay. Once you load into the game, you’re greeted with Power-Ups that can change the game, if you have enough tomatoes. One boosts your speed, another hinders your opponent (only works on NPC Races), theres one that iirc boosts your handling, but i don’t recall anymore. Once you actually begin the race, you’re greeted with a little slingshot. You pull it and after a quick timer, then off you go! The Track will usually be filled with Tomatoes in which its one if the only ways to get tomatoes in the game. This game is controlled via Tilt controls! Because its on a phone of course its gonna use tilt controls. You can hold the right button when you steer to “Slide” as the game calls it. Sometimes the track features rails you can grind on which doubles as a shortcut, which is really satisfying to take, which may contain more tomatoes. The game also has boost pads that increase your speed for a tiny bit. Some of the Tracks i remember include: - Gossamer Grove (i think its one of the newly added tracks) - (idk the word) Motorway (the one with the insane grind rail) - thats all i can remember. If you think you remember more reply below. After winning a race you get a prize for winning, plus you can increase your prize by watching an Ad. Thats pretty much all of the game. Except there are MICROTRANSACTIONS!! Most Microtransactions involve buying new characters which you can’t really customize from what I remember..You can use real money to buy the Main Cast of Snails from the Turbo Movie (excluding Chett), and even some characters from the Turbo FAST Series, like the grasshopper dude, and a grasshopper girl too. The rest is just the usual microtransactions that involve the main currency to speed up the game progression. The highest cost in the game is $99.99 for i think 100K Tomatoes.
You know I’m just saying, if the tacos shop desperately needs money, they could just sell this mutant snail, they found with super speed to genetic scientist. That could be a clean billion dollars right there
Oh God, another movie my little brothers were/are obsessed with. I swear I can't get the way Chet says Turbo, Tito in general, and TACO MAN AND HIS SIDEKICK THE CHURRO out of my head
The biggest effect this movie had on me was my neck hurting after it ended because the theater was absolutely PACKED and I had to sit in the front row. My town was HYPED for turbo.
The reason the tv show looks so good it's because Dreamworks delegated the show to Titmouse. One of the best animated studios located in New York. And if you see that one of their shows has a really good artstyle and it's animation is high quality it's because the excecutives who comissioned the show gave Titmouse a good budget to produce the show and a staff behind the scenes who has a good degree of creative control and actually know how to make animation. There's reason why the quality difference is so noticable on the shows they produced like Big Mouth, Lower Decks, Digman and other works like Mao Mao, Tales of the TMNT, Invader Zim: Rise of the Florpus and their Love, Death & Robots shorts look gorgeous.
Also your guest totally lost the interest of the Latino community on,her segment. Since she uses "X" on using plurals and refering to Latinos which is gramatically incorrect.
It was meant to be a 'bit' segment (a joke) , but it doesn't help that she unrionically sounds like someone who would use Latinx. Dw, I thought she was being genuine the first time I watched it too.
@@just_an_elliExcept when it comes to Rio. When he made a bad take and the internet hounded him for it, he pitched a fit and still is salty all the time (as seen in random jabs in later videos). Maybe situations like that are why he feels uninclined to make any “actually controversial” takes. The most extreme he does is something like his Megamind Rules S1 Pt2 review; it’s not really controversial if basically nobody cares or few had the opposite opinion over it compared to him anyway.
He seemingly loathes Cars 2 with a passion, even dissing it at times where it doesn't even make sense, so I get the feeling he just goes for the popular opinion and hates most things.
I remember watching the TV show a lot when I was younger, though I don't remember a lot of details. All the episodes usually consisted of introduced a rival for Turbo to face at the end. I remember one episode centered around spicy food, one where we see Whiplash's backstory, one where Chet gets into a love triangle, and one where every rival including the movie twist villain races him. Also, I know it was a joke segment, but every time Quinnamon said "Latinx" it hurt my soul. Along with all the taco commentary.

The fact that Michael Mann (the director of Heat and Collateral) has this as one of his favorite movies is like if Christopher Nolan liked the Emoji Movie.
My sister was at the dentist once and they were playing this movie for some reason. She had the nitrous on and was a little loopy. She was convinced this movie was called Snails.
real quick response to the person talking about the taco scene, if you say “latinX” instead of latino and then go on to criticize the beauty of the taco scene, you can’t criticize the scene
I was a huge fan of the movie Wreck-It Ralph back in the day (still am, one of my favorite movies of all time) and I remember watching the teaser for this movie and it showed a bunch of cars racing and then the logo and I thought that it was gonna be like a prequel about Turbo from Wreck-It Ralph’s origins as a kart racing character. Then it showed the snail and I was shocked. Got super hyped for this movie and for a good several years it was one of my absolute favorites and I still have a soft spot for it.
They say at the end of their thing "I hope you think about this critically for the rest of your day" I'm like "Yeah, I'll be critically thinking on should I take anything that comes out of your mouth even remotely seriously when you unironically call yourself a word that is and still is not only hated by most Latino people but is an affront to their language too."
@@foller2electricboogaloo575 being honest here, it's very hard for me to tell if when someone's being ironic or not these days. Because it has happened a lot over the years where I saw someone speaking "ironically" or "with fun" only to find out later that they were actually being serious the whole time.
@@lylelylecrocodile2538Some fast thing from games made by that company that made Rhythm Thief and Hero Bank (which never got localized and that’s why you never heard of it)
What's funny is that this is the exact same plot as Disney's 2013 originally straight to video turned theatrical release, Planes even down to being farmers before the racing stuff that is off the hook crazy. great vid Bulba!
one of the things that annoys me about this movie is that they travel to indianopolis seemingly in the taco truck, so how the heck does the brother still have it at home
I personally don’t mind the movie, I enjoyed it actually. Though, that may just be my autistic brain being entertained by anything that even remotely interests me.
15:38 There was definitely foreshadowing of Guy Gagne's narcissism, like when he tells the cameras at the press conference to focus on 'just him'. I remember seeing that and then the twist (that he just wants Turbo to race so he can bring even more publicity to Gagne's eventual victory) didn't get me at all :/
I never heard of this movie before (or maybe I blocked the memories) but the snail getting super speed (and headbeams and taillights) from falling into the nitrous of a ricer is actually a very clever backstory.
i know i shouldnt worry about the fictional depiction of a sport i dont even care about, but i know for a fact that that stuff is _heavily_ regulated irl for fairness and safety and all that, and they toss it all away to let a snail race... and the snail wins 10/10 movie wouldnt change a thing
I will admit as a kid I asked my parents several times to see this movie, and they’d either say nothing and dodge it or tell me it wasn’t showing anymore. When I finally did see it, I liked it. Sure it was nothing special compared to other movies I’d seen, but it was a decent movie. But the NEFLIX SERIES- I loved that show so much! The Turbo, Home, and Croods shows were my shit.
You know, when i clicked on a video about the movie TURBO, i did not expect to get a critique on how to PROPERLY prepare a Taco. I don't even eat tacos and it made the video more enjoyable
I remember there was a turbo promotion with a ham company in my country And so when i went to kindergarden and i told my friend that my mom bought "turbo ham" he started crying-
I have no idea where the whole " turbo is the worst dreamworks movie" mindset came from but i disagree with that yeah its definitely not one of dreamworks best films but i don't think its anywhere near the worst one i watch turbo over trolls or boss baby any day
I thought it was a joke. Then I realized they were being serious. "Proud member of the Latinx community", yeah, while using the word that's been, you know, universally despised by most actual Latino people? That straight up doesn't even really work in their language because there's no real alphabet in their language for X? Real shining member.
Tbf they're being pretentious on purpose for the bit so maybe it's part of the joke? Specially since they are not even using it to describe an individual half of the times but the community in general lol
At first I thought they were using it ironically because of the voice. Then I legit started questioning "Wait they're not seriously actually unironically using that, right?.....I seriously hope not." Because, for a "proud" member of the "Latinx community", it's rather tone deaf if not arrogantly ignorant to not ONLY ignore the fact that most actual Latino people despise that word, it also just doesn't really work in their language due to the way it's structured in its vocals. There's no real word or alphabet for the "X" at the end of the word no matter how you pronounce, it just doesn't exist in their lingo.
The "twist villain" thing made sense in this film. There are people who act kind and admirable on camera but off camera they're a major jerk, like Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Let‘s be honest Turbo is not the worst dreamworks movie. There’s still quite a bit until the bottom of the barrel. Turbo is a neat, harmless and entertaining movie. It‘s not the best, sure, but still think it shouldn’t be called the worst movie dreamworks has made…especially nowadays
Turbo is the most unlilekely movie off all time to be a childhood classic for me. It might not be my favorite movie as a kid, but man i loved this so much.
