@@fuzes1eazy599 bahahahahah sure a legend.. 😂😂😂 He was a good player gone bad.. Not even close to a legend.. A striker who scores 1 goal in 5 games average is no legend
@Emiliano REYES he won CL with Chelsea but all people remember about him at that time is that it was his decline as a player. he didn't win titles with Liverpool but when most of us think about Torres, they remember his brilliant moments there because he was at his prime. what people remember is no less important than trophies.
Valeriya V he won several trophies with chelsea, but his contributive roles were very low, except for that goal against Barca in the semis. Besides, he was possibly the 3rd best player in the world behind messi and ronaldo, and was playing for the biggest club in england.
He's one of the greatest striker ever to grace the game..... You can see in the video the defenders he played against..... Prime Puyol,Prime vidic, Prime Ferdinand, Prime Terry, Prime Ramos, Prime Toure and many more and he had all them in his pockets during those days🙌
The best naturally gifted finisher we’ve had at the club since fowler. He was fast, direct, every defender feared for their lives with his presence on the field and basically a complete forward. I hated him when he left but now I can look back and appreciate how good he was and he was the reason why I started watching football. Thank you El Niño❤️
Knowtheledge Thelastdayz True but Torres frightened every defender on the pitch alone. If we didn’t get rid of Alonso when we did, we could have won something big but every since we lost him it fucked everything up and we were going down, Roy hodgeson was our manager which sums everything up about how the club was managed from the owners hicks and gillet. FSG have done an amazing job since taking Liverpool over. They’ve been patient with Rodgers and klopp and now we finally have silverware to celebrate. Owen was unreal but he left and once he joined the mancs he can forget being a legend for the club
B Brown Suarez to be fair was probably a better overall player for us but he never had that fear factor about him even though he was a nuisance for defenders but in my opinion Torres whenever he was given a chance at running at defenders and getting past them I always thought he would score, he was deadly! Suarez was the better overall player though 👌
@@Cartierian True. Which a true number 9 can make. Like the supercup match, Chelsea had someone like Giroud to be true number 9. He maybe not the best in overall, but he sure is threat to our defense. Like how Kane is for spurs. In today football in general, i think most striker has evolve to be more skillful overall than just deadly finisher. Like Klose, Lewandowski, Cavani, Ibra, Etoo, Fowler, Batistuta, Inzaghi, Raul, and others.
Cuz he was average. Always was. Tikitaka system just made him look world class because he barely had to defend. Same story with pique. That doesn't changw the fact that pre injry torres was a monstwr though
Jesse Lioce you are talking nonsense puyol was the heart of barcelona he was carrying barca defense long before pep + he played perfectly with spain during the world cup and the euro
a legend one of the greatest to wear the red shirt -I adored him he had that something xtra that no other players had Happy retirement Fernando Fernando we love you
My first football love❤️ If you ask me the greatest footballer of all time, I don't know. If you ask me my favourite footballer of all time, there is only one answer - Fernando Torres. Thanks for the memories, El Nino. There may be strikers with more goals and trophies, but a very few were as complete as Torres at his prime. And even fewer command the respect and love Torres commands. A club legend at two clubs - Atletico and Liverpool. That's Torres for you.❤️❤️❤️
paul harris mate attacking position was not the problem in 13/14 season. Sturridge Suarez and Gerrard did just fine. The problem was the defence. You cant win the fucking league with Mignolet and Kolo Toure. Man we had Flanagan as a right back that season! It was the defence that cost us the league.
@@ibadbayramov9927I agree, I still would have preferred Torres with Suarez also I definitely would have swapped Stirling for Salah at the time. Imagine if we had Van Dyke back then he would have improved the defence by 60-70 %.
To me he will always be a Liverpool legend! I can't blame him for wanting to leave at a time when our club was being run by parasites with no ambition other than to line their own pockets. Can you imagine peak Torres in our current setup? Now that would be a thing of beauty!
Up till today i ve never seen a pure striker with more beautiful movement than Torres. The way he moves is like Roger Federer in tennis, pure efficiency. And he can dribble like messi with body fakes and finishes like Ronaldo. Pity he lost his pace after the injury.
Reason why I got love in this sport, reason why I'm in this sport for more than 10 years. It all started with your magical moments in Liverpool.Even tho I was very young (about 7 years) I still watched you becoming one of the best strikers LFC had in the history.Wish you very happy retirement El Nino, thank you for everything
The day we lost prime Torres is when injury destroyed his body's durability...😔 It's very sad seeing him have to avoid defenders rather than confronts them like he used to...
BLAZE Adventure yeah he played recklessly and with no fear, it really suited him but unfortunately he didnt get to his full potential because of the injuries. IMO he could have been as much as a legend as Ronaldo (Not Cristiano but the brazilian) and Maradona.
Jewel Foster Christiano was (note was) above every other player, on another level, maybe not in talent but his strong will and the hunger he has is just above everyone else’s. I do not consider Messi as a player though, he is just to good to be accounted for lol
@@negnatrepsej2903 cristiano is better than messi tho. Im not a ronaldo fan . Im pretty neutral but as an argentina fan i would say when they need to deliver the most out of them only cristiano is capable of that. Goals in ucl quater semi and final Cristiano -42 Messi. -20. Same says about their international career. But i liked more when ronaldo was at man u. Messi is an incredible player to watch but only in Spain. And i do know that scoring goals isn't the only thing in football. But if were to enjoy it as an art. I would go watch street football.
Jewel Foster Ronaldo is the best goal scorer of all time, yes, but Messi scores as much and can do just the same without being a natural goal scorer, he’s really just a playmaker that scores as much goals as a goalscorer would
Probably the first and last time I've ever truly been awestruck by a player. On his day he was absolutely unstoppable. Question marks will always surround the later parts of his career but for me he'll definitely be remembered as one of the all time greats of the modern era.
@@jdcswe I did. Outside of that one mistake it was a good battle but nothing more. Torres wasn't even responsible for the other time Vidic got sent off, that was Kuyt, but that doesn't fit the narrative.
Thank you for everything Torres. I remember when I was a little kid he was one of my favorite strikers and always loved watching him play for atletico madrid and liverpool. Damn I feel so old now :P
Big respect for this legend.loved him when he arrived at liverpool. Always bullied vidic. Very² big pressure for torres to retired. Goodbye legend.yeah,im chelsea fan
Fernando Torres always was and will be my fav player . I had to hear a lot from my friends during his lack of form but its okay I dont mind it was worth it . Love you el nino.
One of the best young upcoming players of his time. Torres I like the way he turned like a machine and ran the torres way to goal I think that was his strength for me anyway. Torres to me is a defente legend. thumbs up if you agree.
"You don't let him turn...because if you do he runs 100 miles per hour and scores!" The best description to one of the most exciting players I have ever seen while playing for Liverpool! Fernando Torres liverpool's no.9...na na na na na na..torres!
Torres was the best player when cr7 won 1st ballondor too bad Liverpool didnt win anything during torres era. His goal ratio after joining Liverpool was for better thn cr7 and he dont take penalty.
Fernando Torres was exceptional, especially against Barcelona in the champions league semi final,he won the trophy for Chelsea fc,he is strong on the ball, plays with the team, also contribute to the success of the team at all positions, defense, midfield, attack,I love him but was when he picked up scoring form he left chelsea,he will forever be a lengend, heart you Torres
Mate this don was unstoppable at Liverpool. I was literally his biggest fan and even dyed my hair black when he did, never forget when he left though. Congratulations on your retirement you legend
The guy had pace, guile, forethought and determination all rolled into one. The stuff of a genius. All of the above was snuffed @ Chelsea by the constant change of managers.
In his Liverpool days, he was an absolute beast! An absolute pleasure to the eyes. One of the best number 9 to Grace the game ever. Happy Retirement El Nino❤️ You'll always be our childhood superhero. T-90, Headband, Full sleeves= Clinical!! 💯
I would of loved to have seen him wearing the red of Manchester. Amazing player. He should of won something for those two seasons he was on fire with Liverpool. I will always remember his 1st goal againt Chelsea.
Llegó a ser nominado al balón de Oro, sin duda el.mejor centro delantero de 2007 a 2009 Desde su lesión no fue el mismo The Kid, Fernando, el niño. .. Torres
Nah, not really, yeah he could have fulfilled his crazy potential but he literally won anything a footballplayer can imagine except a highest level league trophy (but he won the Segunda Division with Altetico in 2001-2002) - he won the CL, EL twice, WC, Euros twice (even top scorer in 2012), FA Cup, PFA Team of The Season and third in the Ballon D’or 2008 - in a time where Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka, Xavi, David Vills and Zlatan was monster... Thats not a «What if», thats one hell of a career.
@@negnatrepsej2903 he did that all when he was in his worst form of his career.. what if he hadnt had any injuries..we dont know, he even might have even won an balllon dor.
At his peak and prime, can be argued as one of if not the best striker during the periods from 2005-2009.... always a nightmare to any defender that comes across him,got a great eye for a goal and always chased every ball as if he's running for his life.. cracking player at his peak..
