Greetings in the Name of Jesus. As a a pastor I can tell you that your time of preparation is vital. Staying the course in the preparatory time demands discipline and commitment that will serve your covenant marriage forever. One of the most important facts of marriage is that it is covenant with one another and as one flesh with God. In my homilies for the covenant marriage ceremony I always remind the congregation that they are witnesses, encouragers and protectors of your love that I as pastor is a conferral of the covenant that all may hear and that you share--God is the author of your love because He has loved you first. Now you've responded to His influence in perfect love. My prayers are with your preparatory period that this covenant will be the crown of your love for one another and anointed by God.

We may have different giftings and responsibilities but we are equally needed in this time.

Well to be honest, I'm 49 and VERY upset that God has NOT blessed with that so-called VERY special someone. Ever since the 9th grade, I KID YOU NOT, I have had the ABSOLUTE end-all, be-all MOST DIFFICULT TIME simply being able to find/meet a date or girlfriend or someone special. This has NEVER been easy for me no matter what and I have TOLD God that I do NOT appreciate this!! When I see photos on Facebook of my friends with their significant other and smiling on their adventures at the beach or the mountains or Disney World, I get SO VERY irritated and jealous and I want my turn to come BEFORE I'm an elderly man. On top of all this, churches in general have FAILED singles and turned a blind eye to them. It's getting more and more difficult for me to hold out hope that I will EVER find/meet someone special.

Your jealousy & doubt will hinder you. As a man, you have more opportunities because single women outweigh single men. What do you think is the culprit? A Godly woman of integrity doesn't care about $ or looks. She wants a man after God's heart. It's important you learn confidence and that comes from Christ. My guess is there's unforgiveness from your past? You must let the Lord renew your mind. You do that by absorbing the word. What about the church? Hope you find a genuine one.

That stinks, we can't imagine how hard that is and how you must be feeling. We wish we had all the answers for your disappointment but the best thing we can say is to surrender this desire for marriage and release it to the Lord and let Him satisfy the longings in your heart. I used to have such a deep desire for marriage but I had to lay it down so it didn't become an idol in my life and that's what shifted things in my life.

Maybe God truly DOES play favorites ACCORDING TO HIS WILL who gets BLESSED with that VERY SPECIAL someone and who does NOT! Oh well, so much for faith and prayers. God has definitely let me down BIG TIME and then some.
