I just got asked out by an old friend. I had been talking to him for months after I had moved away and when I told him I’d be coming back to our home state, he asked me out on a date. I said yes, as I had a crush on him for quite a while, but I can relate to this song so much. I have such a difficult time processing my feelings for people, so seeing this made feel like I had something to relate to (I also told him about my difficulty processing these things and he completely understands). It’s been like 3 months since I rediscovered this song (I knew of it since 2020) and I can’t stop listening to it. More than liking the song itself, which is *chef’s kisses* I also find myself relating to Dawn a lot 😭. I LOVE LOVE KIMIKO’S VOICE SO MUCH HERE. I really love how much emotion she puts into the lyrics, how you can feel the anxiety and distress the character feels, but at the same time how, despite the stress, it’s still something desired. To be loved unconditionally as someone who might be deemed as ‘weird’ or ‘strange’.

Hello random person on the internet, I'm here to share my personal story. I've never been one to have crushes. I've always been fine being single. But one of my friends started to stick out to me, whenever they'd compliment me it would be the highlight of my day, whenever we'd talk I'd be the happiest I've ever been, I wanted to spend every second with them. Over the summer from school break I realized I was Pansexual, meaning I like all genders. I realized I liked her on the first day back at school. I did everything to be around them, I got flustered when she called me cute nicknames and I walked her to her class almost every class. As I stated earlier, I dont do crushes, this was my first one that was actually serious. I planned out how to confess, and get closer to them and give little hints i liked them. I got so excited, because it really seemed she liked me too. She let me hold her hand, something nobody else seemed to let her do, she called me cute nicknames, she jokingly flirted with me. All the signs pointed to it and I was for the first time in a while genuinely excited and very happy. That all shattered quickly. In one of our classes she was talking to another person and the topic of significant others came up. Apparently she had a girlfriend. I thought she was joking at first but she wasnt. I was heartbroken, i spent the next few hours crying in denial and avoiding her and just wanting to die. I let myself get excited, who am I to think they could ever love me. My friends were there for me, they immediately knew something was wrong and asked what happened. It took my crush to the next day. Later on my other friend found out she had been with her for months. Therefore, I was lead on. My crush never bothered to text me back, I always felt like a bother, they jokingly flirted with me but I was always the one who made all the efforts. That just made me more upset. I love them still platonically, I would never want to ruin our friendship and she never meant to hurt me. But it still cuts very deep. I never let myself feel that way about anyone and this was the first time and my heart was immediately shattered. I'm so scared to move on and love again.
