@@move3336Khabib isn’t telling Henry not to be well rounded, he’s telling him to fight to his strengths and advantages (which is primarily his wrestling). That’s what GSP always did, he’d strike against guys that had better wrestling and wrestle guys that had better striking. Henry has basically abandoned his offensive wrestling and become obsessed with striking and playing the distance game, which makes no sense for him when he should have the wrestling advantage against most opponents and he’s usually fighting guys are taller with a significantly longer reach.

@@animationdude9 An interesting thing about wrestlers is that the ones who are successful are often extremely ego-driven (not in a bad way), and so when they start MMA, they fall in love with the ego boost they get from striking. It's why SO many wrestlers stop relying on their wrestling. On the other hand, Dagestani wrestlers are often less egotistical (tho not immune to their egos), so they don't fall in love with striking as much. Tbh, a really elite specialist will have a way more bullet proof style than someone who does it all really well, that's why Khabib literally never would've lost. Nobody would be able to keep up with his wrestling/grappling. The only times he's ever even been threatened was when he decided to box with Iaquinta and Michael Johnson.

Ronda was not an awful striker for that division at the time. She had outstruck a few of her recent opponents. There were very few elite strikers in women’s mma when she was fighting. She was decent. She just tried to strike with Holly Holm which was the worst possible gameplan

Yeah, he was always swinging like an absolute amateur when striking until he learned how to use his jab. That's was the time when I really started to like watching him fight. Wasn't just strictly wrestling and would often do more striking with other strikers during his fights. Always improved himself.
