When High School Spider-Man Was Fun 

Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were the absolute goats of Marvel animation. And with the possible exception of Daredevil, peaks of Marvel television as a whole.

The fact that we will never see this show's iteration of Hobgoblin, Sandman's redemption arc and *Carnage* , all of which were apparently planned, is CRIMINAL.

Spectacular Spider man is not just of my favorite Spider man cartoon but is also one of my favorite cartoons in general right up there with Batman and Avatar.

I'm ngl spectacular is not just one of the best spiderman cartoon but legit has a case to be the best piece of spiderman media period

Let's hope it gets the X-Men 97 treatment

ngl if it ever does come back I hope that season 3 and beyond (if it ever does come back) takes more Inspiration from the Ultimate comics since the first two season's really only took most Inspiration from 616 stories/Idea's besides Eddie Brock being Peter's Childhood Friend. like I would love for them to adapt stories like Peter meeting a Mutant named Geldoff who uses his powers to be popular and Peter teaches him with Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, Peter meeting the X-Men, Dating Kitty Pryde, Hammerhead being a Mutant, Liz Allen being Firestar, Doc Ock creating Spider-Woman (Peter's Female Clone) etc

Spectacular Spiderman is just so wholesome and love the teases of future characters and events in the show. Carnage was my favorite tease. I thought we were going to get something similar in the MCU but it goes in a different direction. Venom was great. Love his design. Love this show and EMH to death.

What a coincidence that your starting covering Spektakular Spider man now of all times, as I finnisht rewatching that series fore the first time since forever a mount ago, I had honestly forgotten JUST how good it was, something I got reminded of during that re-watch.

A couple more seasons and this would have been my favorite superhero show of all time......guess it will have to stay in the top 5.

Sucks that it was cancelled because they already planned ahead with some stories and known characters from the comics (from the golden and silver era) and an ending and a planned two direct to DVD movies like they know what they were cooking but was cancelled 😭

I Remember seeing one episode on Cartoon Network Latin America in The Carnival Cruise.

Peter being let go from Connor's lab because of money is a nice homage to the Webheads first appearance as a wannabe Fantastic 4 character.

Josh Keaton is imo the best voice for Spidey, funnily he played Harry for the games first. I even told this to Daniel J Barnes, 90's voice actor who I would say is top 5 for Spidey. I actually got to watch this during difficult times in my life which made it more memorable. The villains are much closer to their comic counter parts while still having some of the ultimate and movie influences. You can also tell a lot of the movie influences with Harry being Peter's friend and not Flash's.

I'm late, was sleeping in, but this is going to be an awesome episode!! :D Spectacular Spider-Man is one of my favorite shows. It was so disappointing when it ended on a cliff hanger. Norman was still alive, under an alias, Harry was on track to become the next Green Goblin... And then it ended. :|

Would of been badass if we saw some team ups with the X-men, fantastic 4 even an episode with the guardians of the galaxy

Alright, you have to do Super Hero Squad next. That’s the Greatest Marvel Comedy ever made, and you already talked about the other Marvel cartoons from the 2000s & 2010s.

I'm pretty sure Spectacular Spider-Man was based more off of the Silver Age comics rather than the ones released at the time. In those, there was no one smarter, sassier or kinder than Peter Parker. Also, that's why Vulture's powers are based in tech. First time Spider-Man beat him, it was with a remote control that turned his flight off, so Vulture built a different flight machine and used trickery to upstage him in the second.

re the "even though Peter wins he also loses" I feel that could be put slightly better: Spider-Man won, Peter parker lost. Other days is a win for Peter but at a loss for Spider-Man, that's the whole character, trying to do it all and never quite managing it. Which this show did, uh, spectacularly well lol. Otherwise 10/10 breakdown keen for the rest of the show!

Fantastic day? This isn't the right superhero for that. You should have wished them a Spectacular day, or at least a Web Of day.

This show was so great, but it has it's issues.

Anyone who compares this version to the terrible MCU version is just being disrespectful. Spectacular Spider-Man is leagues above any of the MCU "Spider-Man" films.

Man the only problem with the show is that Peter was such a DICK to Liz aka his best girlfriend and he dumped her for Gwen who DOESNT EVEN BREAK UP WITH HARRY.

Would rather rewach Gargoyles instead. Barring the ongoing comics, at least that show got more eps and a suitable conclusion in the form of either the "Hunter's Moon" storyline or "The Journey". Why bother watching this show, W.I.T.C.H., and even Young Justice when they don't give justice to the idea of proper endings?

I think it's a bit overrated and people exaggerate in calling it perfect, but yeah I gotta hand it to the cartoon, it really had a nice vibe and showed the good amount of street level vigilante's stuff; not to mention the nice writing of most of the characters. HOWEVER it also has its flaws honestly, for ex: The designs of this animation style were sometimes meh, I like my Spider Man with an oval head and big eyes; while here Peter's mask gave more of a round-square head and it kind of bugs me, While it was nice to finally have a Green Goblin that was truer to the text and that wasn't a slipt personality it really annoyed me how they couldn't get right the symbionte and they made it inherently evil instead of misunderstood, this is minor but it was still weird they couldn't find a way to make Henry's mom talk or have relevance, at this point they could've left her dead like in other versions.
