Best thing is you have month to month lease with current landlord and he is understanding of delay. Communication is KEY. If you tell him what's going on as soon as you find out (and frequently), he is much more likely to extend another month.

Honestly I'll be more focused on moving over making videos. In fact, there will probably be a gap in videos during that time, but I'll do what I can. Thanks for the comment.

@@nevoyu Thanks for the offer, but filming has never been the problem, it's sorting through the hours of footage to make the finished edits that takes up most of my time. In fact, I have enough unedited footage to run the channel for an entire year without shooting another frame of video.

Damn I hated moving my shop the one time I've had to do it back in 2018. Outside of that, I've only relocated hoists from spot to spot, which is incredibly easier than moving an entire shop. Stay strong Eric. This too shall pass.

It probably won't for much longer until it's done. I used to work commercial carpentry and since most of that stuff doesn't need to be fancy like residential work, most work gets done pretty quick. In warehouse and commercial spaces like that, we would just meet minimum code and wrap it all up.

I'm used to seeing those buildings go up fast, even with building office spaces inside. The biggest issue could simply be scheduling the occupancy certification inspections. Since the middle of 2020, a lot of those kind of offices have been hideously bogged down.

One of my customers built a building that size in approximately one month. That was from bare ground to the full buildout including plumbing, fire suppression systems, electrical, etc. (and thirty+ doors for containers) I'm guessing that the electrical and plumbing is stubbed in, but not built out in the building. I _do_ hope you get lucky, and they complete the interior construction soon, so you can start your move no later than the end of February. (That's assuming that building is finished by end of January, and existing tenant move happens quickly. It may be a forlorn hope, but I'll keep my fingers crossed)

Yeah, it's crazy out there - I ordered a big whole-house diesel generator for my dad back in the beginning of October - it JUST shipped last week!! Big time delays. I suppose the added time will give you some more time to organize things and throw away or sell things you don't need. Less to move! Still a big undertaking. I've moved so many times in the later half of my life it's insane. Been in the same house for 19 years this year now, which is nice. The way this crazy state is (MA), it's possible that I might be moving again (down south) at some point in the next 10 years. The world is a crazy place these days! Anyway, glad to hear the new owner is understanding! That could've thrown a BIG wrench in your operation. Could've been a nightmare. Glad that worked out! HAPPY NEW YEAR, brother!

It always is a process packing a shop. Rent a flat bed and be prepared for unexpected expenses.

Eric, This move is going to be a blessing to you. If I were in your shoes, I would spend a couple hours, 3-4 per week packing up, and getting ready. It'll make the move so much easier and faster. Once a week, I'd take an extra vehicle home. If the current landlord sees all of this, he might loan you a semi truck and driver to help you move. Or at least, he will continue to be cool when the delays continue

My boss is building a new house. He was just informed that the kitchen appliances he ordered last September won't be arriving until JUNE of 2022! Supply-chain issues suck. This is getting ridiculous! I hope your new building goes better than that.

Thats’s good that everything, everyone is cool with having things stay where they are. It’s like of one person leaves, they aren’t going to have a shop to go to etc. I’m sure that this isn’t everyone’s first rodeo but having to wait for things to get done etc. Good to know everything is good though Eric.

I closed our family large lithography (commercial printing) company in 2015. It LITERALLY took me 4 years to empty out the buildings. And I moved a small chunk to my new commercial building on my farm, where we do engineering. BUT GOOD LORD... moving a business like yours, with lifts, tools, inventory... SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Developments here have been delayed indefinitely because the materials for the build are unavailable. I feel bad for people doing independent repair or construction work. Lumber, tools, everything...

Hopefully the building owner or contractor will be able to get the work finished on the new building. Is a large building and guess about 3.5 times the size of present shop. Hope can afford the rent. The economy is bad and uncertain. Look forward to when the new shop is complete and are able to begin moving in.

If you haven't set a date or location yet will you announce this information in an up coming video? I sure wouldn't want to miss it again. The old meetups were great! Eventually your landlord will want his space. There will be a limit to how long you can stay. You should really have a real man to man talk on how long that really will be if that new building isnt completed in time for the other tenant to occupy. Based on that discussion you may need to have contingencies in place for a kickout sutuation should that new building not be completed within a "new" Timeline. Not to mention if the tenant also drags their feet on moving that too will affect you. Sounds like 1 too many variables in the equation.
