I'm just gonna say this now. I love Curtis as an antagonist for many reasons. One of them being the fact that he has his own song about his dark attempt, and he's happy about it. It really shows a lot of character development in him, and it really shows that he means business about his plan to murder Deloris. And the fact that his thugs sing this too is just icing on the cake. On top of that Kingsley Leggs is perfect as Curtis!
When I saw this on tour he started the chorus staring directly at me and maintained focus on me throughout. It was super uncomfortable, but I burst out laughing at the 'kill that girl." I'll never forget it. That is the happiest song about murdering someone I've ever heard.
My sentiments exactly. It starts off as a jazzy love song, but then he starts singing about killing her in several violent ways. It gets even more hilarious when he starts adding the dance moves, and his henchmen join in.
