After watching this 3 times in a row, I caught a moment I didn't get hit so I had to re-edit a bunch. Then I watched it 3 times more and didn't catch any, so hopefully I didn't miss anything...
I love how this video is just him rapidly switching between him desperately explaining how Birdo is a female and the Tale of the legendary 9k BR player
EO_ attheinternet Nintendo of America initially called him a guy like the Japanese games, but later changed it to a female after the Super Mario Bros. 2 manual described Birdo as "He thinks he's a girl and shoots eggs from his mouth." Birdo has been depicted as a female ever since.
If you're wondering where the Birdo gender confusion comes from: In the the original Japanese, Birdo is a trans female. However, Nintendo's English translation team doesn't like having trans characters, so almost every mention of her being trans has been translated into "He has gender dysphoria LOL" or "We can't tell what gender he is," but every mention of her gender that doesn't mention the trans part is preserved.
I am pretty sure in mario tennis aces Birdo is reffered to as a he whenever birdo returns the ball at last second. And that game is only a few years old
I was the Toad on the DS Delfino Square race, I learned that the shooting star has a better drift stat than the bit bike. Note to anyone that plays online don’t use an outside drifting bike.
@@User-cc5fr I promise I’m not making excuses I was backtrailed in the beginning, then in lap 2 I accidentally drifted into the water bc the stupid outside drift, and I literally could not get a bullet bill I got at least 3 bloopers. It was an awful race
Mario Kart 8 Red Shells: I will chase you till the ends of the Earth to hit you. Mario Kart Wii Red Shells after chasing you for a few seconds: Eh I tried
“If Luigi says ‘cool,’ switch to a session where you’re playing smash and every time you knock someone out, it switches to you eating a chip and after every 5 chips you go back to Luigi and repeat the process” - Mario Kart Wii, Smash, and Chips
3:57 transition is so perfect..i really do appreciate all of the work he puts into this video, watching the same video over and over again no matter how long to find simple mistakes is ... *dedication*
“Every time you say uhhh, like, umm or any other filler word you change from an automatic session to a manual session” Mario cart wii of course. I know editing that would suck but I think it’s an interesting challenge
@@krebooted5944 Maybe? But in Mario Bros 2, or Mario USA, Birdo was a he. It was later changed to a she as proven when in games like Mario Strikes Charged and Mario Kart Wii. But in Super Mario Party, it refers to them as a he again so it's could like Yoshi's case and that Birdo's can be either gender.
Kind Souls If I remember correctly, Birdo started out being described as something like, “this creature thinks it’s a woman!”- in the Japanese manual for Birdo’s debut game. Birdo was meant to be a depiction of an “Okama”, or an extremely mocking and insensitive Japanese stereotype of drag queens, and also trans women. Nintendo realized they did an oopsie, and silently swept that under the rug to simply refer to Birdo by the female pronoun, as regardless of sex, Birdo’s gender is female. :> So, yes, she can very much be trans if you want her to be.
