When I Tried to Fight my Middle School Bullies Over a Sketchbook

I was a bit hesitant to share this story because I was worried people would think I'm an overly-aggressive person or something.
But tbh it's been 10 years since this happened so I actually don't even care.
Everyone has their own dramatic humorous middle school moments, and I'm glad Im able to look back on this one and laugh about it rather than feel bitter.
As I've stated in the video, please dont feel inspired to throw hands at someone because of something I did a decade ago.
Not really the idea I'm trying to push here! Just telling a story!
Apologies for the very rough drawings and the inconsistent audio...I'll be purchasing a new mic soon so mic quality should greatly improve in any future uploads where I have to speak!

I mean, violence is basically the best option of the other option is to tell an adult, because there's a 99,9% percent chance that the adult wouldn't give a dam and just tell the bullies to never do it again, which we all know wouldn't work and would only make things worse for you. Might as well do it quickly, beat them up so they know they shouldn't fuck with you ever again, and move on with your day. It's more effective.

Who cares if you beat them up. If there’s a murderer. Try murdering him. If there’s a bully. Try beating him. If someone is abusive. Try beating them up and if they went too far kill them. If you go to jail then you go to jail. If you die then you die. Running is an option too but that person will stay in the world you stay with. So why not fight back.

Luna’s Tale I would’ve beat them up and not apologize, there’s a good reason I’ve beat up literally everyone in my class back in middle school. I still definitely believe that the right way to deal with bullies is to fight them, everyone that annoys you will still annoy you even if you tell “adults” about it, in fact that only makes it worse.

Xre99 I think so too. Only as a last resort though. I once got rumours spread about me, for two weeks I talked to adults, cried a bunch, and asked them to stop and it just made it worse. I punched the boy spreading rumours about me right in the nose and he started crying. Sure, I got in trouble but he stopped so I mean... I think it was worth it

Caitlin Taylor a lot of people including Emily and you say that their problem was rumors spread about them, I find that strange cause in my school nobody spread rumors about anyone. I think people just didn’t really care enough to spread rumors about anyone.. makes sense since where I live the entire culture was straight forward and therefore people were straight forward, ‘if I hated you, I’d show you that I do’ kinda thing

Xre99 Yeah, most of the kids (honestly including me) are wimps so rumours and petty insults are the way you show people you don’t like them here. Like you compliment them but mean it to be an insult, like “Oh, you got lots of food from the cafeteria! So glad people like you aren’t afraid of what people think of their bodies!” Sometimes proceeded by a belly poke. I got rumours spread by my ex friend when we stopped being friends because he pulled a fire alarm at school and I didn’t cover for him.

for the people who haven’t been bullied and say “Telling a teacher is easy” its kind of not sometimes the bully could do jokes of threatening you of what would happen if you did, or they dont even change after. For my school, I am sort of bullied and we have a sort of where to report a problem or someone being bullied, but in my grade people joke around about it and it makes me, and if you were in my position probably would too for you. For the people who are being bullied, try to stay strong and try your best to stay away from them since thats what i try to do

From personal experience, teachers can be intentionally ignorant when it comes to bullying issues, and often times telling one resulted in pretty much no follow up and continued harassment, or worse. Not that telling a teacher is a bad idea, you should always tell a teacher if something is going on, because some teachers absolutely will step in. But I wish it was a perfect solution.

For me, I had an experience something similar. My friends always want to know what I draw when I hide my drawings, and sometimes they snatched it out and showed it to the entire class, despite knowing I’m a private person and basically disrespected me, but I knew they were just kidding. But I kinda lost my temper and said “ this is not funny, I’m actually mad” and i think the class just stopped bothering me. I still hate it when they do that though.

Only rare occasions, but yeah, it happens. I was in 7th grade, I had this guy who would not let up on making fun of my being Autistic and I had tried doing it "the right way" 8 ways to Sunday. Then one day at lunch, I ask him to stop and he shouts, right in my ear, "suck my balls, you abomination of God!!" I hit him square in the jaw, turned myself into the dean, and told them what was going on. I got one period of detention, he got a week's suspension. I'm not saying this was right in the moral or ethical sense, I'm just saying in this case it worked, more or less.

i remember people in my 5th grade art class would take my art book and pass it around with out my permeation but i wouldn't do anything until they gave it back, i didn't like it when people would look at me draw but i liked it when poeple would compliment my art and that's what they did....
