I was lucky enough to get one of the John5 Tele’s the day it was released and I anytime I play it I think, “I bet Hunter would really like a Tele that sounds like this”… Just going from what I’ve played with it, it seems like it would sound and feel exactly like you’d want it to.

Hey man, is there anyway to pre-order your signature purple baritone. Its beautiful. I was gonna go with a Esp 1000 baritone or a Jackson X series soloist SLA6 dx baritone. But since yours is about to come out Ill wait to get yours.

I cannot get behind Ibanez. I’ve purchased two in the past 8 years and both had neck that just failed. My SRC6 neck died almost immediately. It need an adjustment with a string change (still normal VI strings. Labella flats), and it just slowly dove more and more and the rod just didn’t work. Sent it back to Sweetwater and for a full refund. I’m not a new guitar player. I’ve been playing since the 90s and setting them up myself since 2004. early 200s American Vintage Jazzmaster, Ibanez UV777PBK (2001, absolutely fantastic), Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V, Squier Classic Vibe Tele Deluxe … no problems. I’ve seen other reports of SRC6 and other first-run Bass Workshop necks failing. So as pretty as that guitar is… nah. Never. Also they work with Paul Stanley who has made statements that are a schande.

What sucks about headless guitars is, aside from Steinberger they aren't cheaper for less wood or anything. The ibanez one is like a $1200 Indonesian bass guitar and id just prefer a used premium or prestige sr at that cost

I learned about the headless Gibson through Trogly's guitar show. It looks ugly as sin, but hey, at least they tried something different.. (I guess). Any idea on price point for the up coming sig? I'm in Canada so i'm already boned on conversion, shipping and import fees but I regret missing out on the first run.

The deal with Sunn is no one asked for the 100s and 200s, Sunn amps made loud and cheap amps that’s why they where so popular with the stoner and grunge crowd. Plus they didn’t launch with their number one amp The Model T. If the 100s and 200s Are over 3 grand for a 65 watt barebones tube head the Model T is going to be around 4-5k which is insane. They seriously dropped the ball here.

I'm a big fan of headless instruments, but I don't understand the point of that Gibson. This is probably shaped somewhat by my own confirmation bias, as well as my enthusiasm for engineering in general, but my understanding of most other fans of headless instruments is that ergonomics is king for them. It cannot be avoided to state that the engineering of that Gibson does not look to be in keeping with the headless instrument design principles that lead to their ergonomic advantages. The semi-headstock offers only moderate weight savings from a standard headstock, and almost no space saving advantages whatsoever. The body is the same length as a standard LP jr body, and simply has sections of it which are basically sliced off or routed out. The LP jr body shape doesn't have the thickness of an LP, but it's not a small body by any means. This conflicts pretty blatantly with the core design considerations of why engineers choose to design headless instruments in the first place. So you've got some tangible, but not dramatic, weight reduction, along with almost no space reduction. At that point, why is it so important to the buyer to choose a Gibson headless, which might offer a few subjective aesthetic pluses, but fails to deliver sufficiently on the objective advantages of headless instruments, as opposed to a headless instrument from another designer/manufacturer? The only way I can see the point of this item is purely as a recreation of an oddball piece of Gibson history for collectors. It's not like that famous Fender 7-string strat limited release from 1987 which actually holds up well as a functional instrument, in spite of it's unusual design. It strikes me as the type of guitar no one would actually practice on regularly, and would instead bring out solely to catch people's eyes at shows.

I think that there is a place for headless guitar, and for me, that place would be the bin! That Gibson headless thing is just ugly, and what's the point of Gibson making another flop, that they're just going to drive a digger over, like that ugly Firebird X?
