@@mr_m4613 Remember that PS6 and the 5th generation of Xbox would launch around November 2027. Do you really think that Nintendo is going to release their next console near the end of this console generation or the start of the next one? We're already at the halfway point of the 9th generation. We've also entered Switch's final year. We're going to have a new console by next year.
That makes no sense when you already know the next switch is gonna perform at last gen levels. It’s already gonna be outdated. And that’s already using artificial upscaling as a crutch.
Share the stage how so? No one gives a f about PS5 or Series X now, and by November people will give even less fcks about these consoles. Plus Sony announced they have basically nothing for this year. They cleared the way for Switch 2 in 2024. In 2025 there will be GTA6, PS5 Pro, more exclusives from Sony and Microsoft... 2024 is the perfect year for a new Switch
Would be nice to have the Switch successor release sooner rather than later. Especially when Nintendo's current hardware is in dire need of an upgrade. Expect to see more remakes/remasters and ports of older games until their next console releases.
@@cityplanner3063 Why would anyone play 3rd party games on the switch in the first place???? its a much better experience on other consoles. You get a switch to play Nintendo games
Launching it in March 2025 makes sense overall. However, Nintendo may want to find some new game with mass appeal to release in the second half of this year if they don’t want to kill all of the Switch’s remaining momentum for the holidays.
Yeah, was actually pretty surprised they didn't have Seth along for this one that was like 100% Nintendo. They've had him on before for way less Nintendo talk than this episode had. They really might want to consider having a three person team with Daemon more often tbh.
Imagine what a 8 years gap between Switch 1 & Switch 2 processor can do. We know that mobile technologies vastly improved every year. Between non customised (Switch 1) vs customised (Switch 2) processor it's gigantic advancement in graphics power & efficiency 💪
PS2 is no longer in world wide production? Those are superficial numbers if they were in-production that would be different numbers but it's not in-production.
It's hilarious that YOU suggest that it is a "delay" and that YOU were expecting it to be released in the 2nd half of 2024 when Nintendo has said literally nothing. There's no delay. There's rumors, and we all know what people who spread rumors are like. [cough]
Literally anytime. It will sell like wildfire regardless of when. We’re talking about the best handheld console in the world that has decade old hardware whose fanbase has been dying for a major upgrade.
Stop overthinking the Pokemon Legends announcement. Detective Pikachu used the exact same verbage of releasing for Nintendo Switch systems when it was officially revealed.
When is the right time 2027 when the PS6 is out that should make more then enough Nintendo consoles not to be sold out everyone gets it I’m not in a hurry for scalpers to buy them all out
When they stop making money off your views & engagement? Yet here you are, contributing like everyone else who claims to hate them but still follows everything they do.
Why is everyone in a rush ? Still got decent games releasing ( even Mario /dk was just releases ) . It’s not like ps/Xbox is releasing anything compelling . March 2025 will be release 100%.
Nintendo needs to be sure that when new Xbox releases and also PS6, then Nintendo needs to be powerful enough to handle ports that developers make for these systems.
Why would they announce before Christmas and ruin holiday sales for themselves? The Wii U wasn’t selling and they needed time to build hype. Not this time around :)
No, Switch consoles usually means all variants of the Switch, it can include possible Switch 2, but they already used this terminology before to specify Switch, Switch Lite, etc.
There’s not guarantee that the next console will have a Switch moniker. If it’s a Switch variant then yes, if it’s a next-gen console then will not be Switch-name system.
When it sells beyond the PS2 to become the greatest selling console ever. But in terms of business, it’s when the Switch no longer sells, that’s how businesses work. Do IGN know nothing about how businesses work?
I’d love a pokemon game that runs more than 7fps, the national dex, being able to go into buildings like previous gens instead or just menus at the door. For a game that makes billions each release they have the most bare bones pathetic quality imaginable. Done supporting it.
Not true. They make most of their money on software sales, accessories and services, and scalpers aren't buying those. They want a high attach rate & people buying up tons of software, subscribing to NSO, making eShop purchases, etc. and the more units that are sitting on a scalper's shelves, the less money they make.
Not even Nintendo can combat scalpers. If they’re going to drag their heels on releasing competent hardware, they better release a system that isn’t poorly designed and received. (WiiU all over again.)
You know the gaming industry is dead when you're talking about a gaming console that doesn't even exist yet, completely ignoring the gaming console that's already here
"The Switch has now been more phenomenally successful than the Wii." One is a handheld and the other is a console. Get that right. The DS is STILL the best selling handheld in gaming history and the Wii remains the best selling console in Nintendo's history. It's like comparing the Vita to the PS2.
Don’t ever compare this launch with 2020 launches. PlayStation and Xbox had supply issues which made it harder to release an abundant amount at once. There’s no more shortages on anything just a bad economy at the moment so people might struggle more to buy one this time around
