Cornelius Bennet lives in Centreville, a small, majority-Black town in Southern Illinois located in a low lying area of the Mississippi Basin that’s prone to flooding. It’s drainage and sanitation systems are outdated and constantly overflowing. Even a couple inches of rain can cause raw sewage to pump out into people’s homes.

The city is stealing the money. It’s happening to many country towns here in Australia as well, and I have heard it’s the same in quite a few other 1st world countries.

Sounds like they need to get some of those local government officials out of office since they wanna be lazy. Power to the towns residents, I hope the issue is resolved soon.
