@@dannykay5536 no gaol in wc nockout before this wc where qatar and fifa help the clown with panalty and you compare him with goat god maraddonna lol imbeciles
So true, yes messi is the same type, but he could do what diego done on those parks with players smashing him with no protection from refs, take a shit team like napoli was at the time to glory, but the list goes on what he done, best player I have ever seen,1986 was the best ever a player played in any comp
Rest in peace Diego. We who lived and watched you in your prime will never forget you. The joy and excitement your play gave us will remain in your memory forever.
Maradona was light years ahead of anyone else. Like Georgie Best, Diego got kicked black and blue every game, but still danced past world class defenders like they weren't even there. Only Ronaldinho has ever come close to pure joyful football that Maradona excelled at. Rest in peace Diego. A true man of his people.
I know the feeling - watched with my Dad - who walked out of the room at the end ! What an emotional, terrible game that was . I lost my dad less than a year later & I always remember the games I watched and went to with him - thanks Dad 👏🏽
I'm a massive football fan and a proud Englishman ! But Diego Armando Maradona was by far the best to ever play the game and in my opinion it's not even close
Agree. I was in Culiacan, Mexico afew years back when Diego was managing their 2nd Division team and stayed at the hotel that he was living in. My luck, they had an away match and he wasn't around. All the employees said he was brilliant and the waiters at a restaurant across the street said he could be brilliant or dismissive at worst. Unfortunately, thats the closest I got to the man. The Netflix series on him in Mexico is great watch.
@@claudiovallone9217 Deberías investigar a tu héroe Messi, al mío también, y te garantizo que encontrarás que él piensa y cree las mismas cosas que Diego. Supongo que eres discípulo de la fascista Milei...
I agree (also an Englishman), he was a genius with the football. I've never seen any one person who can influence a games outcome more than Maradona, even with the great players of the modern game they don't come close!
Diego was the best player I've ever seen" every great has his demons " he's very honest in his interview with Gary, we'll never see the like of him again rip Diego
Well,.the world were blessed to testify the skills of Maradona... At.the same Time, Gary ruled as one of.the Most respectful and letal forwader of.the world, along with Hugo Sánchez... Well Gary Is such a gentleman!!!
No pude evitar emocionarme viendo este documental. Lineker es un señor, sin rencor, sencillo y cercano, y Diego, qué lindo verlo lúcido, familiar, humilde. Imposible no llorar…
Diego Maradona’s “hand of God” cheating goal was by far the most memorable moment in my history of being a football fan. However, I forgave him not long after because he was such a towering genius of a footballer and gave me such enormous pleasure watching him. He all but the 1986 World Cup for Argentina on his own and they would definitely have never have won it without him!
No human being can hate Maradona…He was massively and widely loved and respected..I still love him.. I shed tears throughout this interview…His honesty about his drug struggles floored me….GOD please, give him a place in heaven…He brought joy to so many people with his unparalleled talents…Rest on brother….
I can hate the bunt and do. Not for the handball itself but his continual mockery of the idea that he was meant to feel any kind of remorse. Lineker total pussy too just sits there while his wankbuddy laughs in his face.
Over the years I've been fortunate to witness some fantastic skill by some amazing players, Zidane Ronaldinho etc but diego is on a plateau alone. He was a joy to watch
To be fair, Fenwick could have easily tackled him, but stood there, because he'd been booked. Maradona ran past him, and slotted it in. It was Terry Fenwick's fault, without a doubt. And he admits it too. So, a great goal, but not the best ever.
The greatest of the greatest in all sports. Football/soccer is the most played sport in the world. Maradonna was the greatest ever of the most played sport by miles and he won everything, mostly single handed.
Maradona was my favorite footballer…If alcohols and drugs hadn’t consumed him, he would have gone down as the best in the history of football….Alcohols and drugs extinguished the fire in that small magician…His ball control and vision of the game were unparalleled…I still consider him as one of the greatest, but in terms of longevity, trophies, and individual awards, I think Messi is now the greatest..l love Maradona…May his soul continue to rest in peace…As lover of football from Nigeria, I must confess, Argentina is known for producing football geniuses…They are blessed, and Messi and Maradona will always be on top of the list….
@@Simon-lw4uc I wouldn’t even argue with you boss because he was truly a genius in the game…I only said in terms of longevity and number of trophies won, Messi just about edged everyone else…But Maradona was a monster on the pitch…
no one come close to the * GOAT * Armando Diego Maradona.. ..period. end of story....!!!! FIFA 1986...against england semi...all the proof u need. ** GENIUS..rip🕊️**
There might be other great players but Diego not only was a great player but he also had the the gift to make people love him and he loved them. He knew that people wanted entertainment and he simply delivered.
Buena onda Lineker.. En America se habla espanol.. Tu documental estuvo buenisima. Espero lo haigas pasado bien en America.. I hope you enjoyed your stay in America Lineker.. In America, futbol, is our sport..
I'm english diego has always been my favourite player and my goat ..BUT LETS NOT GET IN TWISTED WE "THE ENGLISH " GAVE THE WORLD THE GAME . WE INVENTED THE GAME FROM RUGBY TO FOOTBALL .
@@MrRobm81 The modern way of football was created by the English, I do agree with that. The Mayans and Aztecs played a slight version of football long before the English created the present version. We all agree it is the king sport. Futbol (football, soccer) is the greatest sport ever..
Piala Dunia 82 sudah ada Diego Maradona, namun piala Dunia 86 aku masih mengingatnya sampai sekarang, Piala Dunia 1990 akupun masih menjagokannya sampai yang terakhir piala dunia 1994, . sekarang aku bisa melihat dirinya dalam diri Lionel Messi,la pulga sangat luar biasa, saya yakin Diego sangat bangga padanya. Gary Lineker aku sangat suka dengannya ,dia sangat berkelas dan elegan!!
I was young, emotional and devestated with that '"Hand of God'". Until this day i have never forgiven him and i never will. However, this interview has given me some comfort, as, i can see there are other sides to the man.
Just look at the free kick he scored for Napoli v juventus I think ! Best free kick I’ve ever seen in my life ! Edge of the box right hand side he just lifted the ball with virtually no back lift with his left leg at a crazy angle and floated it top right bin ! Best free kick I’ve ever ever seen
I love the two men, two great men, Maradona is super player, and Lineker is super humanist, Linker's modesty and selflessness is astonishing, and he supports the good causes, such as Palestine, both do.
Ronaldinho and Maradona were a different type of player to Nazario. Nazario was the perfect STRIKER, but Ronaldinho and Maradona were just magicians. Try were just in a class all of their own, and that class was pure, magical, joyful football that we all loved to watch. No less talented as players than Nazario, just different. @@JohnSmith-oe5kx
I wish time could stop or go back. Anyone who knows or has been closely involved in the world of drugs knows how difficult it is to get out of the hole. We see Maradona calm, healthy and within his weight, reunited with his family. A shame, what could have happened to end the way it did.
I just stumbled upon this great interview by Gary Linker about his Old friend Diego Armando Maradona this should have more views great insight to the best footballer on the planet
Grazie Maradona for every emotion we had with you veramente grazie un saluto grande del Marocco di Casablanca del Italia 🇮🇹 per tutti i miei fratelli argentini ❤viva argentina 🇦🇷 . Rest in peace Bro.
Gary is a patient man 😂😂 I would have boarded a plane back when that guy said it’s too early. Gary is a legend. Elegance and class. 2 things Diego lacked.
Yes D10S did wrong and he knew that and as he says himself... THE BALL MUST NEVER BE TAINTED... It would be frightening to see him play now on these pitches and defenders not touching you too much... HE TRULY WAS BLESSED as a footballer and we was so blessed to see him play... Thank you Diego, thank you for everything ❤
The greatest there was and ever will be. Leo Messi a VERY close second after winning everything. However what separates the two is, Diego in that Napoli team carried it at times. Rip dios 🇦🇷
In hockey, it is illegal to kick the puck in the net but countless goals are scored by feet. In 100 + years of hockey, nobody has said " Not a good goal Ref - I kicked it in"
While Maradonna was indeed a great footballer, Gary Lineker was a great footballer and is a great human. A man so humble, who was Maradonna's opposite number, showing up at his house, speaking Spanish and interviewing courageously yet courteously, simply underlines Gary's true greatness. Rather sad Diego couldn't more graciously honor his former foe who'd traveled so far to interview him and share his story.
I believe Maradonna did honor him, he was kind, gracious, generous, appreciative, invited him into his home to have lunch with his family. Even admitted to using his hand! Yes of course he got lucky with the decision to let the goal stand, but thats down to the referee.
This year Beckenbauer before that Maradona,Pelé,Cruyff,B.Charlton,Eusebio,Puśkàs,di Stefano,Jaschin the world is so much poorer without them..super legends
I think 86 was the last truly great World Cup, the innocence and it just being about football and fans, with a few spicy bits, it’s too commercial now. That plus the greatest goal in World Cup history on a pitch that was a vegetable patch.
Love him or hate him, Maradona has gone down as a legend on and off the pitch. Meanwhile, the English are still sitting on a butt so hurt from goal he scored 38 years ago, forgetting their centuries old looting and ransacking of other countries riches.
