I found the scene at the restaurant particularly poignant as your mother was getting upset at grandma for eating the noodles because she was worried you weren’t getting enough to eat. In her clumsy and misunderstood ways, she tried to show her love for you. It reaffirmed some of my feelings about my own parents. It helped me see that despite their limitations, they, too, tried their best to love me in their own clumsy, contradictory ways. Thank you again.
