If he was still alive now imagine what Africa would look like.. he would of probably sold by now, he was doing more important things why he was killed.
@@Jay-in6dl Yes, his track record on social development, specially women was very good. Even those who killed him cannot deny that. Even Iraq became worse after Saddam was executed.
Asking who would be better owners in either the Glazers or Murdoch is like asking someone if they'd like to be mauled alive by rabid dogs or hyenas. Both absolute stains on the game
There’s an excellent documentary on BBC about this which goes into more detail and shows footage of the events discussed here. It’s called Fever Pitch: Rise of the Premier League.
While I get what you mean, let's not forget that Maxwell's Financial Antics would have resulted in Manchester United being sold by his bankrupt estate.
I’m so happy as a United fan we didn’t get Murdoch and instead ended up with the Glazers, they love the team and understand football so well, so I’m happy everything turned out the way it did, also, worth mentioning, their management of income and dividends is spot on too. Impecable.
Granted they have spent nearly a billion last i heard but none to little investment in the grounds, training and so on. Whoever was buying the players over the past 10 years clearly failed as well when compared to the big clubs and often for less money. Far as i know the debt they made when they took over is still there as well. Murdoch and Glazers would probably be the same deal either way.
United fans in 90s: win a lot but sad not spending money. 3:04 United fans now: spend a lot but sad not winning. Nothing's ever good enough for us it seems.
@@padraig5335 it's a democratic republic. Republic means that it is not ruled by a hereditary ruler. Democratic means that the ruler is chosen by the people. Please stop believing that democracy is opposite to republic.
Always make me laugh that. Liverpool and United had to fight to get to the top. City, Chelsea and Newcastle got given billions in state stolen blood money. But no one mentions that when they praise those teams when they win trophies.
Maybe just about boro TV wouldn't hold much interest but I'd honestly love a video on the rise and fall of 90's boro, maybe have something about the station in there, because that was such a fascinating time for the club.
@@BarryRerack147 Really? I don't even remember that stuff (I was thinking more about all the signings and over spending and crashing out the prem and the story behind that). Definitely sounds like tifo would have enough material for a good video, especially for neutrals like me who don't know much about the club.
It was soo f**king wrong back then when Murdoch was aiming to purchase United (given the fact that his News International published The Times and The Sun, not forgetting he had shares in BSkyB) that I remember thinking back then about impartiality and how could his publications could even be objective when discussing Manchester United given the obvious conflict of interest (its bad enough at the time they were/are media darlings having two publications potentially waxing lyrical about them would have been a nightmare).
@@mrcoolguy1 Lol, well for me it was vexing at the time. But football is all about cycles and clubs having their time in the sun (looking at United current situation)
It was probably also good for sky that it failed, as they then put the United money into free mini dishes & sky boxes for its new Sky Digital service. Free boxes are taken for granted now was significant at the time & it allowed Sky to grow much faster. Before being taken over by Viacom, it was UKs biggest media company.

I would take Rupert Murdoch over the Glazers any day. Manchester United would have become way more successful under Murdoch because of his aggressive and success driven nature compared to the Glazers. If he had failed to make it successful, at least he would have agreed to sell it to another competent owner unlike the Glazers.
Because united fans have standards and morals. Same reason why even with the current glazers ownership, we were overwhelmingly against saudi ownership when that was that was being suggested a few years ago
Damn, tifo getting paid by michael knighton and consortium to do their hit pieces to bring down man united shares.. mainstream RU-vidr is starting to run with the piece, that the glazers are really trying to sell man united..
U do know he was killed by his own people and was in a civil war. That would have been a disaster not to mention NATO were fighting him. NATO with Britain innit.
Man U were not big spenders in the 90’ s ? Fergie signed an entire squad more or less and broke the British transfer record 4 times. I don’t have a problem with it but, give over
I'm at the point where I constantly asked myself, "why do I rooting for ManUtd? Not living in Manchester, the management is stupid, do not produce good football since Fergie leaving. All my favourite player either becoming stupid, dumped or simply disliked."
