Holyfield would have been beat by mike under cus. When he was 15-19 Ammiright 🙄 Tyson ducked Holyfield forever fought bruce seldon. And buster. Even Lennox who was number 1 contender back then. Tysons found time fight frank Bruno twice. And razor rusdock. No time for Holyfield well after he fought 3 wars in a year and was knocked out and looked horrible in the third bowe fight. Didn’t fight Mercer. Foreman. Morrison. Lennox holy bowe. Golota. Tua. Klitschko. Byrd would have killed him. Ibeabuchi would have James Toney would have boxed him up. He should have been dqd 5-6 fights in a row as well but he was just handled like a baby or a spoiled brat with no consequence of actions But man he killed a lot of second and third tier fighters. Tyson is one of my favorites as he was one of the most exciting and dirty fighters. Not because he was the goat. Maybe 4th or 5th best of his generation Lennox. Holyfield bowe Foreman would have beaten him as well. Foreman chased that fight and for all of these guys tyson wouldn’t fight them Holyfield fought those guys 8 times. .

Same for me. I was 10 years old watching with my aunts and uncles at Grandma's house. I'd heard about Mike Tyson for years but never watched a fight until that 2nd fight between him and Holyfield. I was disappointed by the outcome. Years later I'd relearn about Tyson's career through RU-vid videos but I could never truly appreciate his greatness. Fact is I've always seeen him as a sore loser due to the biting incident.

Bro, I watched both fights and Tyson lost to Elbows and Headbutts and Politics. Evander should have been disqualified in Both fights, and ... I was actually at a College Kegger in New York for Holyfield vs Tyson 2, and I was saying early in the fight that Tyson was going to lose to Headbutts AGAIN and, that although I understand why the Public wanted him to lose at the time, he did not deserve a TKO loss on his record. Holyfield was a receding boxer because they called his Elbows and Headbutts for everyone BUT Tyson. I actually told everyone at that keg party that I would Low-Blow Holyfield if he butted me one more time. Biting his ear off.. I lol'd. F***r had it coming. Good of Mike to forgive him.

I always felt, having followed Tyson's career since I was a little kid, that he lost something in his style and technique when he fired Kevin Rooney and went with a whole new camp. I guess it was King who convinced him to do that, but that to me seemed like the true beginning of the end. His very first fight without trainer Kevin Rooney in his corner was the Douglas fight. We all know what happened there. Even though he won more fights, later on, his elusive style just wasn't the same.

@Will B if you really believe that, you’re stupid as hell. I agree it wasn’t his trainer that caused his downfall. I’ve already said the real reason in my previous comment on this thread. But Tyson was far from over hyped. Most boxes hit their prime in their mid twenties. Tyson was a unstoppable wrecking ball in his late teens. Demolishing everyone that crossed his path without so much as a proper challenge. Issue was, Boxing was something he only got into because of his adoptive father figure. It provided a outlet for his aggressive nature, and temporarily got him out of his street habits. But when said father figure died, he lost all drive and motivation, and fell right back into those habits. He cut back on training, and the more time past, the less training he did. He’s literally said all of this in a interview. Tyson was already the greatest boxer in history at 18, but he had given up on his boxing career in every aspect beyond officially quitting before he reach his prime age. Tyson wasn’t over hype, he just never truly lived up to his potential.

When you watched them enter the ring you could feel how solemn Evander was, The Real Deal was solid as a mountain. Blow after body shattering blow the titans clashed, Tyson opened up his flurries of power but Holyfield was just about the only human on Earth who take them. Slowly he wore Mike down until Mike started to loose balance, and then that fateful tumble. It was all downhill for him right then.

Great respect for these two. Tyson has a heart, a conscience. He's a good man, and Holyfield likewise.
