Nana played a large role in the show, despite being dead. It was her apartment and she had her own group of friends at a coffee shop.

Looking back on these series makes me cry. My husband and I watched Friends together for years. He died in 2018 from cancer . I still watch the reruns on television and I get this sinking feeling in my heart.

Why hasn’t there been a prequel about Nana and her friends living in the apartment? I’d watch it

Fun fact: Alice Drummond the actress who played “Nana” was 66 years old in this scene. She lived another 22 years and passed away in 2016 at 88 years old.

Does anybody else always wonder upon rewatching this episode why they all are sitting outside of her room? And even when they hear she's not dead, Nana's daughter (Monica and Ross' mum) plus her sister just stay seated outside instead of joining her bedside. I mean granted we don't know how close they were so it's not unheard of, but still a little unusual - to not be with a family member in that moment but wait outside as if it was a birth or something.

My mom and I get a long great but one time after she had surgery and we waited until she woke up and was put into her hospital room, I was emotional but so glad she was going to be ok, I went to give her a little hug so not to squeeze her too tight. She was happy to see me and told me how she was still groggy, then she said, "You know, if you cut your hair shorter, it'll looks so much better and you'll feel better"... I was like thinking in my mind, what?! That's what you want to tell me?! I just smiled and said ok mom.. You can't stop being a mom for 5 minutes? LOL..later she said she doesn't remember that and that she loves my long hair. Sure mom, you were under the influence of anesthesia, "Truth serum"! A week later I did get a few inches cut off and I actually did like it better! I didn't want to admit it to her though lol. 🤦‍♀️

A nurse would never put a cloth over her head like that though. They do that with crime scene victims or when they are going to move the person. It'd be very disrespectful to do so, 5 seconda after passing, in front of the family

What i never understood is in a later season when Monica and Chandler are engaged, Jack speaks of his wife’s parents in the present. Said he lied about being a lawyer and to this day they didnt know, so if Chandler ever sees him giving them legal advice, he should just smile and nod along…
