When my grandmother died, we tried to find clothes for her. But my dad and I we both forgot about a bra. Why would we think about undergarments when we never saw them? The funeral home found something that worked.

It was not her closet I remember most of my grandmother -- it was the garage where she had kept fifty years of stuff. At least three models of Mr. Coffee. A bonafide 78 RPM Victrola. A filing cabinet made out of wood. Dresses that had gone out of style, come back in style and gone out again. Dozens of record albums, the crown jewel of which had to be "Richard Harris: A Tramp Shining." It is astonishing the detritus one collects in life...and it makes us miss them all the more when they are gone. This scene captures that perfectly.
