Next should be the online pro sitting at the table and getting used to all the live dynamics: 10x open raises getting multiple callers, people chasing the jackpots, proper opening sizes getting literally zero folds, omcs, limp 3bets, straddles, angling, string bets, river raises being literally only the nuts. Lots of good live dynamics out there.

Earlier tonight, after several hours of not 3-betting anything, I decided to try 3-betting pocket 4's just once, because surely after all these hours of not doing it, a big scary 3-bet squeeze will look like KK+ and everyone will just fold. Nope, two callers. Flop comes 873 rainbow. I make a largish c-bet hoping to scare off the opponents; one of them calls, the other reraises. Turns out he flopped two-pair with 87o (and made a full house by the river).

my first timer ever playing live it folded around to me in the small blind and I 4x raised with 8To as the guy was stabbing the table with his hand sideways. He got utterly disgusted and then chucked his cards face up as he stared me down. I had no idea what a chop was and where I play it’s pretty much an unspoken rule if it folds around to you in the SB, you gesture to the BB to see if he wants to play or chop.

you couldn't pay me to play live poker. Between the outrageously high rake and being expected to pay the dealers salary because casinos are to greedy to pay a fair wage. Then on top of that you have angle shooting and assholes hollywooding every hand. plus the constant chip shuffling. Sure online players are horrible and seemingly incapable of learning but imo not worth my mental health

Live poker is literally like a candy store, especially Friday nights where the drunks and droolers and absolute beginners come out to play especially those 1/2 "fun" tables where the buyin is capped at $100. Years ago when I heard how soft live was and finally made a pilgrimage far away to a foreign place to try it,it was that and more. I don't even know why people waste their time with online poker,oh god people struggle for months just to make $1000 at the micros cash and tourneys,even learning how to crush at micros is like climbing Mt Everest since the early 2010s for most players. Live let's u pretend to be everything u thought poker players could be.instead of grinding 100+ hours a month for all those stupid cheeseburger pots or extra value meals.....yeah live poker may be slow and tedious but the adrenaline starts flowing when ur staring at a decision for a $700 pot,like 2 weeks rent and food money......winning will make the rest of ur day or losing....still better than the slow disappointment of making 5 cheeseburgers at the end of a 8 hour session and feeling happy ur graph went up....my god what was people thinking? Micros should be outlawed,I don't even understand why 5c poker exist,maybe its good for Venezuelans or russians 10 years ago.but young men in first world countries are throwing their lives away for $140 a month plus raake back??? Min stakes should start at 25nl.if u can't afford to play maybe u should get a job.
