I think moonbyul debuted as a rapper is a blessing. She has a very good vocal indeed but in korea's music pop industry, her tone would be overshadowed if she debuted as a vocalist right away. As an alto in a high pitched kpop industry, she really has to work hard and establish herself first for people to get listened to her. Changing her course to be a rapper has really give her a flavor. It showed how unique and interesting she is. Her raps are always catchy and on point that we call her one of the top tier kpop rappers and it also give her a lot of credits. (Royalties $$$) If moonbyul starts as a vocalist in a vocal group, I don't think she could easily show off her swag and boyish charms because she has to blend in to not overshadow her co-vocalist. Being a rapper really has given her a lot of opportunities to show off. It adds to her experience and skill especially in songwriting that we know not all artist are given a chance. Now, she has established her artistry. She is looked up by her juniors and appreciated by her seniors. She's now an ALL-ROUNDER. An ACE. And let's admit that in every mamamoo's songs we are always anticipating for moonbyul's part whether it is long or short, it gives her the spotlight because she is simply amazing.

Rbw is not a trash company. But having 4 vocalist is a bit much. The 3 will also overshadow her deep voice. So I guess they made it so she would standout.
Her voice will not be overshadow by other members if rbw let her singing voice be heard and let her continue singing, they can debut her as singing and rapping. Just saying. 🙂

I never understood the “three singers is enough” angle. En Vogue Original destiny’s child Boyz II Men Jodeci Little mix Spice girls Hell…pentatonix They don’t teach k-pop idols how to harmonize beyond two people? Never heard of a four part harmony? Especially since I swear I’ve heard layered vocals and still can’t fathom why you’d layer vocals in a group instead of letting them harmonize. Again, they should have learned to harmonize with all members when they were in training. I’m not even talking about giving her singing verses Nothing wrong with her being the main rapper and adding depth to harmonies on a regular basis. A couple of songs out of their great discography seems like a waste of a good voice

That clip of her screaming while praying is misleading. Being able to high pitch scream is not singing. I saw another video about a different K-pop artist having the whistle register and that girl is literally screaming not singing. 🤦🏽♀️
Well no one is singing at that show.. It's literally just saying Annyeong cleopatra from the lowest pitch to highest pitch. The other also scream, don't you watch the full video? Even if it's only screaming, can an ordinary alto hit that high note like moonbyul? Nope
Tbh I prefer her vocals more than her rapping. I‘m not really into her rap (it doesn’t mean she is a bad rapper but I don’t rlly enjoying her raps. That’s my OPINION)
