Honestly had he known the full extent of the Mangeykou Sharingan's abilities and that Madara would show up, Sasuke probably would have packed up Kekashi with that Izanagi/Izanami Shit. Because there are so many ways to distort reality and force the outcome you want up to and including which is why I don't understand why they don't do it but they could just distort reality to a version where they DON'T lose their eye by forcing the outcome and then just force that outcome and now they've altered reality so that they can continue to force changes with no repercussions you could literally ginjustu and Izanagi your way into having all the genetic material you needed all the tailed beast chakras be covered in Rinnegan eyes evolved from Hyuga and Otsutsuki Byakugan eyes and even have the Rinne Sharingan third eye via Izanagi and Izanami literally becoming Kaguya herself.
