I don't think so. Tennis has always been an all white sport for so long. When you have an environment like that anyone that isn't white may not feel very comfortable in a place like that. There aren't much of any tennis courts in poor area and if they are there they are often in terrible condition. Tennis takes up a lot of space so poor areas don't tend to have courts. These things filter out a lot of non-white people. So IF more non-white people actually participate you'll see a lot of non-white stars there too. Sure she is genetically gifted with a strength level far higher than almost any woman. But you see that at top level competition in many sports, from many competitors from many different backgrounds.

Presently, she's the G. O. A. T. And until somebody comes along and take that title away from her she will always be the greatest of all time. You can't get mad and hate on people when they have been gifted of God to do a sport or have a gifting or Talent of extraordinaire. We got to learn how to let people be great in what they're great at. When her time in tennis is over someone greater will come along but in the meantime let her be. Serena keep up the good work and keep doing what you do best!

i'll never forget how the crowd laughed at her and azarenka's grunts during their 2015 wimbledon match. for me, it was way worse than the way they treated her during the watson match two rounds earlier, because it felt so condescending. and as a viewer, it really disrupted the incredible drama of the game and the power on display. when you're watching a match, you want to be emotionally drawn into the game by crowd participation. listening to a bunch of less talented bozos snickering at women grunting just feels like that time i went to see Moonlight and a couple of frat boys behind me would laugh every time something remotely gay came up.

Serena has the mental grit to dig in!! She has immense self confidence in her tennis. Even instances where she played bellow her capabilities, a lot of times she still won the matches. Right now.. 23 slams seems like an impossible feat to break.

You broke the mold and reinvented it and yes, there will be racist who hated you just because of your skin color...I saw it for myself sitting in some of those stands. You will be considered the angry black woman and Steffi of all people was a better show person and showed more class when let the truth be told Steffi was a brilliant tennis player but had no personality on the court for most of her career until she matured. Per Chris Everett, she is the best player of the game i have ever seen. Other commentator, even if she has not won the most grand slams. Chris, Graf, and Navratilova were great players, but Serena is better because she is an all around player that has no weaknesses. Chris, i agree.

If you watch Serena's build compared to that of her opponents it's like watching a heavyweight fighter fighting a bantam weight. That's not taking away from her pure skills. There just wasn't anyone in her league for a long time.

This is a garbage take. Serena looks bigger than she actually is. There are "skinnier" players with stronger serves who she's beaten. Serena's body type has nothing to do with her mental toughness, flexibility, agility and absolute skill which are the hallmarks of her elite level of tennis.
